Threads Affiliate Marketing: How to start earning?

Threads is not just an interactive social network; if you know how to leverage it, you can earn money through Threads affiliate marketing.

1. Why Threads beats IG/FB/X for affiliate right now​

• Not saturated yet. Going from 0 → 5k followers is noticeably easier here than on IG or X.
• Higher-intent audience. Threads users are comment-happy — they discuss and share far more freely than IG lurkers. That translates to better conversion if your content actually invites discussion.
• Organic-first algorithm. There's no ads product yet, so the algorithm is still pushing organic posts hard. Brand-new accounts can go semi-viral on post #1.
• Low production bar. No thumbnail, no CTA, no fancy caption formula required. A short, open-ended caption on a reposted video can outperform a polished IG Reel.

2. Setup​

To get started with affiliate marketing on Threads, you can set things up like this:

1. Create your Threads account by linking it to an existing IG account.
2. "Warm up" the account the way you would FB/IG — browse your niche's Topic pages and engage with posts in that niche for 2–3 days before you post anything yourself.
3. Start posting. Keep captions under ~500 words unless you're doing a long-form review.

3. Content angles that actually convert​

You can start making money using three content angles like this:

1. Curiosity/gossip bait: Tap into what people are nosy about by nature — money, status, relationships, "insider" lifestyle content. Lead with a strong hook line, let the caption build curiosity, and push people into the comments to keep reading. Don't put the link in the post itself — Threads doesn't let you hyperlink in-post anyway, and a visible link screams "ad" and kills CTR. Drop the affiliate link in the first comment instead.

2. Reviews / product comparisons: The standard blog/affiliate playbook, and it still works great here — especially in food, beauty, and makeup niches.

3. Reposted content (most common, lowest effort): Pull a video from Douyin/TikTok, add a short caption, drop the link in the comments. Threads hasn't cracked down on reposts the way TikTok/YouTube have, so this is the path of least resistance. Downside: it reads as spammy and reach is hit-or-miss. Original content is still the better long-term bet — it's more durable and won't get wiped out once Threads eventually tightens copyright enforcement.

3. Scaling​

You can scale this by running multiple Threads accounts. At small scale, Chrome profiles are fine. Once you're running several accounts and need to avoid detection or bans triggered by IP/device overlap, an antidetect browser paired with proxies lets you run each account on its own isolated fingerprint.
