Hi everyone,

It feels like Instagram is constantly changing, and strategies that worked a year ago don't always seem to have the same impact today.

I'm curious to hear what people are finding most effective lately. Are you seeing better results with:

Reels
Carousel posts
Stories
Collaborations
Consistent posting
Community engagement

I'm more interested in long-term, sustainable growth than quick spikes. What's one strategy or habit that has consistently helped you grow your account or improve engagement?

Looking forward to hearing everyone's experiences and learning from the community!

Reels and consistent engagement have worked well for many accounts I think creating content that gives people a reason to follow is more important than just posting frequently

For me, consistency has been the biggest factor Posting regularly and engaging with followers every day has led to steady long term growth

the main difference is in my opinion, that now instagram values accounts that actually engage people instead of just posting a lot. reels do work great when it comes to disscovery but it is the ability to respond to comments, share good content nd communicate that turns the viewers into subscribers. the only thing u should do to grow ur account effectively is experiment with different types of posts nd learn from ur audiience.

consistency and community engagement have made the biggest difference posting valuable reels regularly and interacting with the audience has worked better than chasing short term trends

Consistency and good quality content. Because of ai, many people create content everyday, but few create contente with real value

carousels and reels together are the strongest combo imo. reels pull in new viewers and carousels get saved and shared which signals value to the algo.

Everybody focuses on reach, yet the main difference is that Insta growth is now based on turning the attention of your audience into an actual audience. The reels attract new attention, yet it is the carousels, stories, and direct replies to users who make your brand more credible.
I observe accounts that grow consistently due to the following reason that they test various types of posts, analyse saved and shared posts, and evolve.

I think community engagement is often overlooked replying to comments and interacting with similar accounts has helped build more consistent growth than focusing only on posting content

Community Engagement has been more valuable than any single content format. Responding to comments, Interacting with similar account's, and posting consistently has produced the most stable long term Growth.

For me reels, because they get optimal reach. But all of these things you mentioned are useful. Also consistent posting is a factor.

For me it's just being consistent. Reels bring the most reach, and replying to comments and DMs helps a lot too. I stopped chasing every new trick and just focused on posting regularly.

No single thing works anymore, You need to combine multiple of them to get good engagement and followers.

-Posting Reels Daily
-Being Consistent with the Posting Schedule.
-Using Ads with a small budget everyday.
-Replying to all Comments and DMs.
-Posting Stories everyday.
-Using some Growth Service like F/UF or Mother Child.

I think reels are still good for discovery, but carousels and stories help build trust. The best results usually come from mixing different formats instead of relying on one thing.

reels can spike you fast, but it’s usually the repeatable habit of replying, building relationships, and showing up regularly that keeps engagement steady.

Reels and carousels are what I primarily use. On days that I don't post I try to add something to my story. I kind of use my story to get me by in between posts. Posting consistently is good but don't post too often otherwise you won't give your current post enough time to generate likes and views. It's a delicate balance you have to strike

Posting consistently and increasing the quality of posts will definitely be the topmost priorities. Reels may work great in terms of attracting new followers, but carousels and Stories will prove to be effective in engaging current followers. The most important thing will be to continue experimenting and concentrating on consistency rather than on spikes.

One habit that has held up for me is separating discovery content from conversion and retention content. Reels are the reach layer, while carousels and Stories do more of the follow and relationship work. Across an account matrix, I track a rolling median for shares, profile visits, and follows per 1,000 views instead of letting one viral Reel define the strategy. When a hook wins on several accounts, I adapt the concept rather than copying the exact creative, so each page keeps its own voice. That has produced steadier growth than simply increasing posting frequency.

Being consistent is one of most important thing. I notice accounts that i leave without content for a long time it will not perform nearly as well as a account where i constantly post
