What was the first car you learned how to drive in?

My first car was a Kia Sportage and that's the car I learned to drive in To be honest, I only learned driving a few years ago, and the 4th generation Kia Sportage will always have a special place in my heart

For me, it was more than just a car It gave me confidence freedom and some great memories. I honestly felt that it was one of the best cars someone could own and in many ways it became more special to me than some of the relationships that didn't work out

I would love to hear from my fellow BHW members what was the first car you learned to drive in? What made that car special to you and why do you still remember it?

I got my license after 14 lessons on a driving school, did not know anyone with a car to practice with and bought a 1974 BMW as a first car in the mid 80s. That car really sucked.

Not really the answer the OP is looking for but I did one driving lesson when I was 20. My instructor had the flu and spent the whole lesson drinking Lucozade and eating Kit-Kats. I nearly crashed into a bus. I did not ask ALbert (stylised with the 'L' like in an L-plate) for any more lessons.

I don't know what the car was.

Volkswagen, because many driving schools in our country use this model as a training vehicle.

I learned in my driving school's carrr

I have always heard German engineering is among the best although i guess every brand has its hits and misses what are you driving these days?

Learned on a car that didn't even have a power steering. It was some Hyundai car, probably santro. This was 18 years back.

Bro that must have been tough my cousin had one without power steering, and it was a lot harder to drive.

Mine was a Toyota Corolla. Nothing fancy about it, but it was easy to learn on and it's the car that gave me the confidence to actually drive on my own. I'll always remember it as the one where everything just clicked.

Yeah, car scene was only just evolving back then in my country plus the car that I learned on was an older car. Having driven all sorts of manual cars and with not much features, I can only appreciate the technology available now. New drivers won't even be able to reverse park a car without a parking/360 camera these days.

I think that's Toyota specialty nothing too fancy just incredibly reliable That's something many Chinese and other feature packed cars are still trying to match

A Peugeot 206. That was 14 years ago. My brother took me out for a driving lesson once. He showed me how to change gears and how to use the brakes, clutch, and accelerator. After that, I started driving on my own.

My mom teached in our beach house on a Opel Rekord Caravan back when i was thirteen... that "petrol head" vibe might be the reason that nowadays i own a Mustang and a Corvette lol
