You Can Now Connect Your Social Media Accounts To Google Search Console

That's a good take, and honestly if Google keeps pushing this further, social profiles could turn into a real source of traffic down the line. Might as well start linking them now while it's still cheap to do.

But how? Is it the same as adding a new property option, or does it need some other steps?
Yes, just click 'add property' and you'll get the popup below

Then select the property you want to add by clicking it and continuing, you'll eventually be prompted to login on that account/profile.

That's a useful update. Linking social profiles in Search Console could help strengthen your brand presence in search results and make it easier for users to discover your official accounts. I'll definitely be checking if it's available on my properties.

This looks like a useful addition for tracking your brand overall presence, especially if you are active on platforms like YouTube, Instagram, or LinkedIn. I do not think connecting social media accounts will improve rankings by itself, but having everything in one place makes it easier to monitor how your brand appears in Google Search.

Let me check this, it's cool, but that gives Google more clue about publishers' lives
You're not using this link your personal profile but your business/website profile on those social media.
Don't you want Google to have enough information to send some traffic your way?

But are those social media accounts just being added as individual properties? I mean, would they actually be automatically tagged onto the website, if you get what I mean?

Because I see it like just adding another website to your GSC account, which is a different individual property that's hosted under the same GSC account. I haven't actually tried adding the social media accounts yet. Maybe that's why I'm still asking these questions but I do see the option on my GSC.

Just a thought if you could clarify. Thanks : )

Just Checked mine and the option is there as well. It'll be interesting to see whether this lead's to more traffic from social platforms or if it's mainly for better brand verification across Google.

I don't think they would be automatically added as a part of an existing site on your GSC, they're individual web properties on their own.

It's good that way anyway.

I checked my console, and the feature is not there yet, maybe, it's not for all regions yet.

the useful part imo is having verified ownership and performance data in one place.
i wouldn’t assume the connection itself boosts rankings, but it could make attribution between social exposure, branded searches, and clicks much easier.
i’d watch whether gsc adds platform-level reports before changing strategy around it.

Can you please provide link where we can see this Add website page
On your GSC, click the drop down list under your sites/domains. Then select 'add property '
