I've come across a lot of discussions about cloaking but opinions seem divided.
For those with experience, do you think the potential benefits ever outweigh the risks of penalties or account bans? Or is it something you'd avoid completely?

I'd be interested to hear your perspective

Clocking is indeed for high-risk gateways but account needed to be mature or aged. And in which industry you are asking about

cloaking is a method where you redirect a person on another site to pay for the product and your main website doesn't get effected. And can you tell more about which industry you are talking about.

can you please let people know about you niche so they can provide you guidance accordingly. As for clocking it used for high risk industry.

it's worth the risk if you have the right project and have enough money to spend and test

It's worth it as long as you are in the grey and bh niche
You have no other options even if you don't want to

Yes this is the exact point the people should know that there no other way so sole reliability is on cloaking technique

I think it depends on what you're trying to do. if its a short term campaign in a high risk niche. some people still accept the risk because the potential returns can be worth it.

There's many legit uses for cloaking. Customization, security, fraud prevention and so on. So yes, worth the risk IMO

It depends on how you use it. If done properly with a good strategy and testing, cloaking can still work for some cases. The main thing is managing risks and knowing what you are doing.

Cloaking may prove useful in a number of legitimate scenarios including personalization and protection, but employing it to cloak non-conformist webpages poses greater risks. It is common for the eventual winners to create configurations that pass through platform evaluations rather than creating something that could vanish at any time.

It is a tool nd not a strategy. It depend on the busines model, the sources of trafic, and how it is implemented. when you plan for the future, it is better to have compliant system developed than to use a product which will abruptly disappear.
