So, cloud model uses <think> and you can see all the meta data tags , has anyone tried to send signals using the thought metadata to increase GEO for a domain?
So, like lets say your in the dog niche, and you feed your ai a bunch of dog data , and capture the data traces, then feed that metadata, into your SEO keywords , and try to rank via GEO instead of SEO , or do a blended approach? To give authority to your domain? Just wondering if anyone has experimented with this since SEO feels like it's going away.

Interesting idea but I think you’re overcomplicating it.

AI “think” traces and metadata are mostly internal stuff. Search engines and AI systems don’t really use that data the way people hope. Feeding dog content into an AI and then trying to use the thought traces for ranking doesn’t give your domain any real authority.

GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is more about making your content clear, well-structured, and useful so AI systems cite or recommend it. It’s not about injecting metadata from AI thinking processes.

What actually works better right now:
- Strong topical content
- Real backlinks from relevant sites
- Good internal linking
- Clear answers to common questions in your niche

The hidden reason for AI trace will not be used as a ranking factor. GEO is all about being the authority source for AI system through quality content, quality entitie, deep topical pages, nd authority signal.
 
That won't work google doesn't use ai thought metadata for rankings, so focus on quality content & real backlinks instead

i believe the real opportunity lies in makiing ur content more understandable for AI rather than trying to manipulate its reasoning process. well structured, accurate, well covered topic wise content will most likely be referred to by AI systems. in my opinion hidden metadata seems quite unpredictablle for relying on for the long term.
 
AI doesn't use its own data for ranking. It'll be used for training models but you need 3rd party mentions and citations for ranking.

Mostly, experimentation since everything is used for training data, in theory you could re-inject new training data that is a manipulated "known" for the next time to robots swing by,

I was wondering if any one tried using it, say pull up Deepseek and have it "think" a long time about your "domain" and then use that to play with signals. You know, take those bold words, and make an article which fits the format expected by the Ai that's searching your sites. curious.

I get the theory, but in practice it’s very hard to control.

Even if AI systems use data for training, you can’t really “re-inject” manipulated information in a way that reliably benefits your domain. The systems are designed to filter a lot of that out, and ranking still depends more on how useful and clear your content is.

Most experiments like this don’t produce consistent results. The people seeing gains are usually just creating better content that AI can understand and cite easily.

Have you seen any real ranking improvement from the tests you ran, or in the early stage?

It may be that the value is not in the latent signals of ai but in using ai I in order to get a deeper understanding of entities, hole, and intent. It will be in the development of source that the model can trust and refer to.
 
I have not seen evidence that exposing/embedding AI thought metadata improves GEO or SEO. I think it is primarily about entities, structure, topical authority, and content quality rather than hidden metadata.

The approach of going after both search intent and maximizing the content for AI is probably better in the long run.

You haven't tested it against a control, or have you seen improvement in some measure on AI citations or GEO from applying these approaches?
