I'd focus on the pages that already perform well and reverse-engineer them. Look at how they're structured, how quickly they answer the question, and how well they match search intent.
For AEO, clear answers and good topic coverage usually matter more than article length. Some variation is normal, so don't judge a page too quickly after publishing.

Optimizing the article with direct answers in a list format works very well most of the time. However, you mentioned that some of your existing pages are already performing well. So, analyze the pages that are performing well and apply the same approach to the newer ones.

The biggest factor from what i have seen is whether the content solves a speciffic problem in a real way. some posts are a bit off the mark but some fit what people r looking for. i generally focus on being clear answerring the main question up front nd not having a lot of unnecessary fluff. But even then some posts tend to outperform others.

It's normal. not all articles will perform the same - even if you put the same effort into writing them. Some topics naturally have more demand, while others are harder to rank in AEO.

this SEO approach is somewhat unique compared to traditional SEO. For me, it would be to check whether the selected webpage have stronger entity signal, more unique insight nd context. sometimes, the topic itself may have more AI value than the content.

This is quite common. I've found that not all manual content performs equally well in AEO, even when I spend the same amount of time and effort creating it. In my experience, posts that answer the user's question clearly and cover the topic in depth tend to perform better. If a post doesn't get much traction, I usually revisit it, make a few improvements, and give it more time before judging the results.

Imo, AEO isn’t luck, it comes down to intent alignment, solid structure, and quality content.not every post will hit, but there must be consistency along with their basics is what drives results.
