IMO, I see an plenty of placement with inflated metrics but there was poor relevance or weak traffic and an excessive outbound links..Alone DA/Dr not enough, editorial quality and link equity matters here..

I'd love to hear your thoughts which help others to evaluate guest post.

Sellers asking $10-$20 for a guest post.

100% guaranteed you do more damage to your site than you are helping it.

Guest posts cost money. Just because there are cheap sellers available doesn't mean you get anything worthwhile.

Guest posting is still a solid off-page SEO strategy ,when it’s done with transparency and genuine relevance

True, cheaper guest posts often do more harm if they’re low quality or PBN-based. But completely avoiding guest posts isn’t ideal either quality insertion still helps to earn do-follow links, build link equity, and drive real traffics when done it right

I always keep clear of placements which revolve around building links for my site. It is true trafic, relevance and placement of gud content that matters. the most relevant guest post would remain just as valuable without the link as well.

Agreed. Typically, I look at the ranking keywords, traffic trends, topical relevancy, and placement of their external links naturally. A site with lower metrics but which actually has an audience will transfer more value than a high Domain Rating site that just sells posts.

Guest posting remains an effective off-page SEO strategy—provided it's done with transparency, authentic value, and relevance to the target audience.

For me, a good guest post site should have real visitors and related content. A high DR website with no traffic is not very useful.

My first deal breaker is lack of real traffic & relevance if the site doesn't get consistent organic traffic in my niche, I skip it immediately, inflated DR/DA means nothing if the site has weak content, random topics or sells tons of outbound links, because that kills link value & long term impact

Step one involve finding out whether or not there is any traffic on the website, other than just users. It is quite easy to play around with figures but it is quite difficult to play around with everything else.

If a website has traffic spikes that do not match its content, or most of the traffic comes from irrelevant countries or strange keywords, I walk away. Avoid websites that publish nothing but sponsored posts. Even if the metrics look good, I would rather buy a placement on a site with real readers, regular content, and genuine organic visibility.
