Does anyone else spend more time closing popups than actually reading the website?

Am I the only one who feels like every time I click a link now I have to navigate some kind of obstacle course. First you accept the cookies. Then you decline the newsletter thing. Then you close out the live chat box asking if you need help. And then finally you get hit with a full screen prompt telling you to download their app just to keep reading.

By the time I've cleared all that off my screen I've genuinely forgotten what I was even trying to look at in the first place. Honestly if a site throws three popups at me in the first ten seconds I just close the tab, not even worth it anymore.

The internet used to be so much easier to just browse. Am I the only one with zero patience left for this stuff?

Do not forget about the interstitial ads blocking the whole screen before you are even allowed to start reading something

And after all that, closing 5-7 pop ups, you will face a fcking paywall, subscribe to read the whole article/news, lmao

This kind of spammy move just makes AI life easier, at least for now you won't face anything similar on ChatGPT, Gemini, Kimi or any major AI platform, much less your own local LLM, no ads and pop ups to close, they are making an additional effort to kill their traffic

Hitting a paywall after clearing five popups is honestly the ultimate insult. No wonder people are just switching to AI for straight answers at this point. These sites are basically begging to lose their own traffic. :)

Yeah, popups that loads automatic is shitty, though I understand why they use them I really hate the shit, also those annoying chat widgets that popup, fckn hell if I want to engage with the business I will click the chat myself FFS.

Hah mate, for real same vibe. Especially when you're slammed with work, you straight up feel like a cog in some machine, just grinding nonstop

Is annoying but sometimes when the information or what you needed from the site is so important, you just have to be patient and pass through it.

Yes, to be honest it's so annoying. To the point where I might close smth actually useful and then regret it when I realise what I've just closed.... xd

For someone with limited energy, accidentally touching a pop-up is like falling into a never-ending maze.
One click leads to another page, then another, then another... and suddenly my entire battery is gone just from trying to escape and close everything.:alien:
