How can I increase impressions on a newly created channel? (Not Shorts)

Sometimes, you can do everything right and still have low views. Try to create a playlist of your videos, and increase the length of your videos.

YT may needs a definite audience indication before expanding impressions through new channels. In addition to following what the competitors do, why not make some videos on very specific search problems that will show clear user intent?
Sometimes the initial break through happens on a less competitive subject to prove that you can satisfies an audience's needs, and after that, YouTube tests other videos as well.

From what I have seen new channels can take time before YouTube gathers enough data I would focus on improving thumbnails titles and keeping viewers watching because strong early engagement helps videos earn more impressions Comparing progress over several uploads is usually more useful than judging a single video

Something that i have found when it comes to working on new channels is that YouTube requires certain signals before they can start testing which type of people you want to see the videos from. rather than just copying the compietition, I would consider what kinds of subjects generate their views and create a little unique approach that your channel can use. Sometimes the first couple of videos will be more about informing YouTube who you are.

@Elchavo yeah you are right about the impressions part... hard to improve content when the algorithm literally isnt showing it to anyone. If you are stuck at 10 impressions, youtube has zero data on who your audience is. You need to force feed the algorithm its first batch of data. Instead of waiting for browse features, try sharing your link in highly targeted places where your actual audience hangs out. Subreddits, facebook groups, discord servers. Just dont spam it. If you can get even 50 real people who actually care about the niche to watch the video through, the algorithm will finally figure out who to test your next impressions on. Otherwise you are just playing a lottery with a new channel.

Use proper titles and tags
Upload with consistency
Engage with similar niche channels
Share your video other platforms like facebook

I think it is normal for a new channel Early on YouTube has very little data, so it takes time to understand who your audience is I would focus on improving the title thumbnail and especially the first minute of the video

Once viewers start clicking and watching longer, impressions usually improve as well

it takes a while to build the channel. like at least 50 videos from what i see. and youtube wants to see that you are continously putting out content. i think this is underrated. most people will focus on the content quality and topics but that is something that comes naturally. youtube also has to answer their own investors. why do they choose to feature this person? they must belive they expect more ad revenue from you than the others

when you say you're folowing a "similar style" to your competitors — are you talking like same vibe/energy, or are you litterally copying their exact thumbnail layout and title structure? cause i feel like theres a difference between drawing inspiration vs basically replicating and youtube's algo might actually penalize the latter??

Upload useful videos consistency with good titles and thumbnails. Also fucus on the niche and use keywords people search for on YouTube.
