I have take over my previous site which are 2 year old and it niche was telecom based site and I brought some links to keep alive and get traffic but I got backlinks and don't get traffic. Is there something I am missing? Any guess?

Backlinks alone don’t bring traffic. You need to check which keywords those backlinks helped you rank for. Once your keywords start ranking, that’s what actually drives traffic.

For an old website that you're trying to 'restore' or refresh, content should be your primary focus. You're ,ore likely to regain some rankings with content improvement for such a site, than just buying bunch of links.

Backlinks alone did not always bring traffic. i would check if the links are relevant the content matches search intent and whether the pages are actually targeting keywords people are searching for,
I have focused long tail keywords only for my page and I was using Google keyword tool , is there any other tool ?

I have seen old Domains carry a lot of historical baggage. If most of the old pages lost relevance over time, just backlinks may not change much. I do first check which Pages Google is actually rewarding before building more links.

backlinks do not guarantee traffic. i would look at the relevancy of the links, if the content is aligned with current search intent nd if the pages r actually targetting keywords with search demand. sometimes improving existing content nd internal linking has a bigger impact than simpply adding more links.

Backlinks are not sufficient to get traffic to the site if the site is not properly optimized for on-page SEO, has low quality content, and missing relevant long tail keywords.

I would check indexing, content quality, search intent, and relevance of the acquired links first.

Are your rankings increasing after backlinks appeared or are they stagnant while being indexed?

I believe you need to focus on your content more, because content is KING. Write about the service intent of your potential audience/customers and you're golden.

Backlinks will bring you traffic, it depends on the content structure, the keyword you use, good keyword density, and, more importantly, the quality of the site you choose to post on, good metrics, and stable traffic blogs

more backlinks without traffic usually means your pages aren't ranking or matching search intent. Focus on better content, topical authority, and technical SEO rather than building more links.

Maybe the site needs more than new backlinks. try improving the content, targeting better keywords, and checking the old domain's history before building more links.

You need to do more keyword research. Target low competition keywords. Make sure you're interlinking through your site. Try social media sites to get some traffic as well

Backlinks alone won't bring traffic, make sure they're relevant, improve your content, target the right keywords, and give Google time to recognize the changes.

Many believe that backlinks are what is missing, but when working with old websites, i often consider looking at the history first. should the content that was linked to be different from what Google knows or has becomes irrelevant to modern search queries, those links will hardly affects anything. In some cases, it can be useful to re build the site architiecture and fix its internal linking.
