I think the biggest change is viewer expectations. People decide within the first few seconds whether to keep watching, so improving the opening of your videos can make a noticeable difference.
Just optimize your content properly in your niche. Understand your audience and you will start seeing a change in results. For yt chanels I watched, all of them, no exception, comparing to years before, Traffic dropped significantly, some of them even dropped to almost like 1/10, all original content chanels.
years before, yes I can also see some chanels traffic dropped , but I can also come accross to many new chanels traffic surged significantly, but now? I didn't find any new chanels like these.
it looks like yt traffic already gone to somewhere else like tiktok?
I hope what I saw is wrong, hopefully you can give a totally different story.
so your basically saying originality is pointless on YT now, but doesn't that create like a oversaturation problem?? like if everyones just copying the same viral topics wont the algo eventualy start favoring whoever does it best rather then whoever does it first — and at that point isn't quality + originality kind of the same thing?Yt isn't dead, its algorithm has changed!! They keep changing the pattern of the algo every year since 2022 and later and youtube doesn't reward creativity or originality anymore, although of course a few channels may blow up, but the current algo just promotes the same topics done by multiple different creators. This is a really good time to start channels by just copying videos that have got millions of views and get the same kind of success, however do keep in mind youtube still prioritizes quality on the content even if it is copied, so focus on retention, ctr and etc, mainly do videos on topics that have already proven to get millions of views.
That's exactly the pro and cons of youtube, when we say originality doesn't win... it doesn't mean you cannot blow up something that is original but if you want to blow up a channel quicker then creating topics with the same thumbnail style and editing concept of an already established competitor is going to help you out. First copy the pattern that is already proven to win and then incorporate/ experiment with original content.so your basically saying originality is pointless on YT now, but doesn't that create like a oversaturation problem?? like if everyones just copying the same viral topics wont the algo eventualy start favoring whoever does it best rather then whoever does it first — and at that point isn't quality + originality kind of the same thing?
omg this actually makes so much sense but like — at what point do you swtich from copying the proven pattern to experimenting wiht your own stuff?? like is there a specific milestone (subs, views, consitency streak) where you'd say "ok NOW you can start going original" or is it more of a feel thing??That's exactly the pro and cons of youtube, when we say originality doesn't win... it doesn't mean you cannot blow up something that is original but if you want to blow up a channel quicker then creating topics with the same thumbnail style and editing concept of an already established competitor is going to help you out.
