Hor much does Traffic actually matters If conversions are Low?

Geniune Question, been focusing hard on getting more Traffic to a site but the coversion rate is pretty meh... like it is better to keep pushing for more visitors and puch the funnel landing first page.

Well, i don't mean to be rude, but what matters most, the ammount of money in your pockets or the ammount of people seeing your store? That's quite obvious, unless you site objetive is something else (adsense, paywalls, etc) and the conversions are a extra... only in this case the traffic will matter more

Peop'e usually chase traffic, they get it, they're happy, then slowly they discover that it's junk traffic.

CRO is the single most important factor you should focus on.
 
You should focus on serving your target audience rather than simply chasing high traffic volume without effective conversion strategies; instead, build pages designed to enhance the user experience and retain customers.
 
I'd focus on the funnel first. If the traffic is relevant but not converting, more visitors will just amplify the leak. Even a small bump in conversion rate can outperform a big traffic increase. Once the landing page and offer are dialed in, scaling traffic makes a lot more sense.
 
Traffic without conversions is just a vanity metric. Pouring more visitors into a leaking funnel is a waste of time and budget.

first i would examine the funnel before focusing on increasing traffic. increased traffic will just serve to exacerbate the problem if visitors r reaching the funnel nd not convertting. in some cases a slight alteration of messaging, layout, trust factors or target demographic can result in better converssions than simply investiing time in getting additional visitors.
 
If your conversion rate is poor, I would address your funnel issues before increasing traffic. Adding more traffic will only make your problem worse, so testing your landing pages' message, offer, social proof, and intent would be a smart move to take first.
 
I think both should be worked on together. Keep testing new traffic sources while improving the funnel for the visitors you already have.
 
I'd focus on improving conversions before chasing a lot more traffic. If your landing page or funnel isn't converting well, doubling your visitors often just doubles the number of people who leave. Small improvements to your offer, messaging, or CTA can have a bigger impact on revenue than simply increasing traffic.
 
Traffic looks good but conversions pay the bills. i would rather have one hundred visitors that buy than ten thousand that leave without doing anything. quality traffic always beats big numbers.

It's not valuable traffic in that case. And what's more important and more likely - not targeted. Cause if the conversion low that means that either you have really bad creatives or it's just not your audience.
 
More traffic will only amplify the current problem if those visitors are poorly matched or the landing page is weak. Id segment conversions by query, page, device, and source, then review whether the offer matches what people expected. Sometimes, well, a low overall rate hides one valuable segment. Fix obvious friction first, run one controlled test at a time, and keep acquiring traffic only where the economics still make sense.

More traffic won't help much if the funnel is not converting, fix your landing page and offer first then scale the traffic.

I'd optimize the funnel before chasing more traffic. More visitors won't help much if the landing page isn't converting—small CRO improvements can make a big difference.
 
Traffic is important, but conversions matter more. I would first improve the landing page, calls to action, and user experience. Better converting traffic is often more valuable than simply getting more visitors.
