[Journey] My Journey with a German Blog Site Focused on Product Reviews and Amazon Affiliate Marketing

Milestone Update: SEO Challenges, Social Media Breakthrough & Next Steps

(Manually written, AI-assisted for corrections.)
Hey everyone,

Time for another update on the project.

Google Indexing Issues

I’m still struggling a bit with Google indexing. It keeps deindexing one post while indexing another, so I haven’t yet reached a stable state where all my content is indexed. I'm continuing to use backlink services and also building some links myself to increase site authority.

At this point, only one keyword is ranking - nothing else yet, as the site still lacks domain authority.

Social Media Push – Focus on TikTok

Meanwhile, I’ve started creating short videos every day or every two days across all major social media platforms, with a focus on TikTok. The content is pure high-quality comedy, and the first two videos went viral:

  • First video: 11k likes, 110k views
  • Second video: 13k+ likes, 120k views

This is from a brand-new account, which makes it even more exciting.

YouTube is more difficult, currently stuck at around 1,000–1,500 views per video. Instagram reels get about 100–300 views. Right now, TikTok is clearly the platform with the strongest reach. I think YouTube needs more time and a bit of luck, while Instagram might follow automatically later.

Website Traffic & Next Steps

On days when the TikTok videos go viral, I see a traffic spike of about 70-80 users to the blog. Outside of those days, traffic remains low. Still, it’s a great start.

I’ll keep producing content regularly and see if this opens up additional opportunities—maybe even income via TikTok or partnerships. At the same time, I’ll keep working on building authority through backlinks and improving SEO.

I’ll check back in soon with more updates as things develop!

I am very interested to follow something different and make my mind to do something. Good Luck for your journey!

I am happy to see this journey because most people think that Amazon affiliate niche blogs are dead. Hope you prove them wrong.

Inspiring such journey posts. i am always planning to start one.

Any update?
Thanks.
The project was discontinued because I ran into legal issues in Germany regarding the domain. The website’s domain was very similar to that of a large, well-known site, which caused problems. In the process i also learned, Amazon affiliate marketing isn’t really worth it in Germany, even big influencers and established sites barely make any big profit from it. I would have loved to continue the project, but only under the same domain, since it was perfect for the German market.

What affiliate marketing is worth it in Germany? Or do you have other considerations?
Thanks.

That's unfortunate, How big is your site? Is it possible if you sell the domain to that large well known site?

You know at least you get some money from this quite long journey.

Backlink is the hard part with non English websites. Less backlinks are needed, but very hard to purchase quality ones.
