What would you learn today If you were starting over?

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some ideas or inspiration on what field I should learn more about.

A bit about me first:

• I used to make some money selling game skins on eBay
• I also made custom clothes for Roblox (freelancing on Fiverr)
• I stopped because the profit wasn’t worth the time anymore

Right now I have:

• Some money I’m willing to invest
• A decent PC
• Time and mainly motivation to learn something new

I’m not looking for a „get rich quick“ method.

One thing I’ve been thinking about is watch flipping. I really like watches and have a small collection myself, so it’s something I’m genuinely interested in. If anyone here has experience buying and selling watches and wouldn’t mind pointing me in the right direction or sharing how they got started, I’d really appreciate it. I stumbled across this idea when I sold a watch for a profit after wearing it and enjoying it for a few months. The profit was not very significant, but the concept „opened my eyes“ haha

I’m obviously also open to other ideas if you think there’s a better field worth learning

Do you like watching videos that were created by AI. In my country, using AI to create short videos and put it on the tiktok. If you have great ideas and creativities, you can try this way. If your video series are very popular, you can even get the opportunity to put advertisement in your video and the make money.

Hi! Thanks a lot for the idea! I’ve actually done some research on this before, as far as I’ve read, platforms have limited the monetisation for AI content.. I’ll definitely need to do some deeper research. Thank you! : )

Invest in learning marketing and advertising. These skills will be extremely valuable for running an online business or making money through affiliate marketing programs.

What software did you use to do the things you done, and how well and quickly did you master it?

I was able to create a $5k+ a month business by being able to use photoshop better for making tees than most people. I had experiance with photoshop, so using it and pivoting to a new business idea and then working hard to master it was easy.

Do what you're interested in. If not money, you'll learn something about the watch market.
Back when I was a teenager, I used to flip items that people gave away for free or throwaway prices just because they didn't have the space. And I made a good amount of money, enough to fund the next 4 years of travel.

With all this AI stuff going on, I'd learn offline skills for real.

HVAC tech stuff, how to be a plumber, etc

Then I'd build a site, rank it, get clients, get people to work underneath me & just scale.

focus on ai and automation. Both will do an amazing job

If you are looking for a growing business,i will prefer you farming.Every people are dependent on agriculture. You can start your business through farming.

Most of my experience came from Roblox Studio and a few design tools for creating clothing. I wouldn’t say I mastered any one program like you did with Photoshop, but it taught me the basics of a specific skill : )

That’s a great point, Thank you! Even if it doesn’t turn into a business right away (but once hopefully) I’d still enjoy learning more about the watch market. having a genuine interest makes it much easier to stay consistent.

I really like this approach, something different from what I had in mind but a really interesting perspective. I definitely See the value in offline trades, especially because they will always be needed

Thanks! AI and automation are definitely areas I want to learn more about. I did a small side project that has something to do with watches that I’m coding with AI haha, it’s still not finished but it’s more an experimentation than something I could make money with

That’s a great way to put it. I think finding the right problem is the hard part. (At least for me) do you have any advice on how to get “better” at spotting those problems that are worth building a business around?

Thank you for the suggestion! I can definitely see why agriculture is a stable industry since there will always be demand (it’s in most cases the backbone of a country)
At the moment I’m looking more towards online businesses or something related to technology or watches, but I appreciate you taking the time to share your idea and I’ll definitely note it down, you never know haha, sometimes you end up going the road you expect the least ; )

I’m also considering studying Business Administration (BWL) after finishing college, which will be in a year. Do you think it’s still a good degree to pursue in today’s market, especially with AI changing so many industries?

this. and to add to this: (high ticket) sales and marketing for sure. the easiest thing you can do especially since you have some liquidity to invest is sell leads or even better appointments (pay per result). this is the easiest way to get enough customers. overtime you can switch over to safer/more stable models but in the beginning this works for sure

I will try to learn marketing and sales. Because I knew how seo works before but didn't know how to sell, i learned it during these past years.

Since you already have experience with game skins, Roblox, and watches. Learn how to create small roblox games, roblox skins etc. they are selling a lot these days.
