"I don't need to write that down, I'll definitely remember it."

Let's be honest. You won't remember it.

Whether it's a random item to grab at the grocery store, a brilliant thought you had in the shower, or a small task you need to do tomorrow morning, the moment you trust your brain to hold onto it, it's gone forever.

I swear my brain just wipes itself completely clean the second I log off at 10 PM.

Save yourself the headache and just use a notepad app.

Who else falls for this trap on a daily basis? :)

Oh my, everyday man. Even more when i'm developing a system or an app, i always think "i gotta keep track of X to use in the future", and i always ended up forgeting that. Thank God claude allows to keep track of those things in it's memory, so i just end up asking it lol

Its all those hours of watching instagram/tiktok shorts - makes our brain a mush with the memory of a gold fish and retention spam of a 5 year old.

I use Anki to memorize important knowledge

And my personal Whatsapp conversation to write down some reminders. Or set an alarm.

i used to be the same until i started using voice notes instead. way faster than typing, especially when you're half asleep or walking around. now i just scream random ideas into my phone at 3am like a lunatic. my voice memos are a mess but at least the ideas actually survive the night lmao

Guilty
I just did this yesterday
But this days..it's easy
Record or take a pic

And you are done

i just noticed this about me lately i just forget things easily and that is not like me, maybe i am overstressing myself lately i dont even know

I have to set an alarm to remind me of pretty much everything... I could use notepad but I would forget to look at it!

One more thing and im done for today.. 10 hours later..

One more year and i stop doing what i do.. here we are still doing it

I just talk to myself and I'm surprised to eventually get to what I remembered.

Guilty. The worst part is I'll have a genuinely good idea, tell myself it's too good to forget, and it's gone by the time I find a pen. Now everything goes straight into my phone notes, even the dumb stuff – half my best ideas would've died in the shower otherwise.
