Do you agree with this dude or is he crazy?

The other day i had to explain to someone that spends most of his time online - what a forum is, so OP might not be that far off.

well... maybe hes right? i can actually relate to this. The only websites i still open are my local news, BHW, and even that is maybe once every 2–3 days.. :) everything else is just AI, social media, and work...

where we are rn? where did he post this? its a website man

google it self a web engine

Sorry maybe a bit scared you op lol, but its a reality, we here still use BHW does not mean websites are not dead...

Googled Ai overview changed everything, all websites traffic down.

People changed behaviors, fewer and fewer people use search engines each day, and even they use, they only see AI overviews, don't need to click into the websites.

SEO is dead. Sure, you can always give counter examples, some blah blah, some websites traffic up, we are still use BHW, blah blah...

yeah sure, but that's not mean the SEO is not dead, websites are not dead, hope you understand the logic behind this, some special examples can't defy the whole trend.

Do you still visit websites or is it all dead and we should focus on creating huge social media pages?
He has a point, people don't visit or read websites as they used to do before. There were sites I personally used to enjoy, but short form content has changed every thing, pair that up with AI.

People now go to websites for very specific things.

so if those things are dead, whats alive and whats next ?

1. If one think he can still earn some money from SEO, websites, then cool, go ahead.

2. If with 0 money and 0 knowledge to start, build a website is near impossible to earn money from 2026, cuz first page is full of Ai shit, social medias, you have no chance.

3. If one can produce quality contents very suitable for social media spread, then go ahead, you can earn a lot money from social medias since most people on social medias now.

Choose one fits you

Plus, other trendy things would include use learn Ai applications, use Ai to create things, like apps, games, assets, music, etc, use Ai to help those traditional businessess to transform, etc..

Find more opportunities in reality world is a very doable routine again, since jobs market collapse, Ai disrupts everything, e.g. hire a real Chinese and start a Chinese restaurant is very doable, another example, get a patch land to grow China native fresh vegetables and sell them to Chinese restaurants or similar is very doable local business model. Just name a few.

For me anyways making money from website was difficult always, you need to be very sure and needed substantial efforts.. I agree people relying on technology should start looking for alternatives.. but also there is one certainty that in our lifetime humans will control AI so i dont think everything will die.

I think it's an exaggeration. People definitely spend more time on social media and AI now, but websites aren't dead. Every social media profile, SaaS product, e-commerce store, and business still relies on a website in some way.

I can understand your feelings, but it is not possible to stop innovation in the tech industry. We need to focus on adapting and continuously improving ourselves to keep up with technology. My answer may not have fully satisfied you, but we always have only one option adaptability.

Yeah, AI Overviews are eating clicks, zero-click is real, nobody's arguing that. But AI Overviews literally exist by scraping websites lol. It's like saying restaurants are dead because food delivery apps got popular bro, where do you think the food's coming from. No websites = no data = no AI Overview = Google just showing you a blank page then
