Hi everyone,
I’ve noticed that some creators focus on attracting new viewers, while others prioritize keeping existing viewers coming back for every upload.
Do you think returning viewers are the key to long-term YouTube success, or should creators focus more on reaching new audiences?
Would love to hear your thoughts.

I think both are important. Returning viewers help keep your channel's views stable, while new viewers help your channel grow.

In my opinion, both of the things you mentioned are important. However, Returning Viewers generally mean that you have built a loyal audience. New viewers help your channel grow, and Returning Viewers help maintain the continuity of the channel.
In your experience, what percentage of Returning Viewers is considered good for a growing YouTube channel?

returning viewers are lice subscribers of a channel which get update/notify on every upload content which are different from new viewers that are new to the channel but get reachout with search result on a specify niche/keyword.

Put you entire focus on getting new audience if you want to grow faster. To maintain the older viewers, all you need to do is upload content in the same niche, no need to put extra efforts into that.

I think you need both, but returning viewers are the most important factor. New viewers help you grow, while loyal viewers give your videos a strong start with better watch time and engagement. My approach is to use catchy titles and thumbnails to attract new viewers, then focus on quality content to keep them coming back

Returning viewers keep your income stable. New viewers increase your income from YT.

Returning viewers matter but giving people a reason to click the next upload is probably even more important, because that's what keeps them coming back over time

getting new viewers is great for channel growth but it is the repeat viewers that make the channel sustain itsellf. if someone watches every new upload that u make then he believes in the content that u produce. the perfect formula is getting new viewers while also ensuring that the subscriibed viewers have something to look forward to.

Growth is driven by the new viewers, but the loyal ones are the confirmation that your channel is truly growing. The metric id rather see than just those two figures is the conversion rate between new and returning viewers. when you manages to get new viewers, and a certain percentage of them return for the subsequent videos, that is usually a lot more telling sign.
