Edge tts is actually decent, probably the best free option out there right now because the voices sound way less robotic than the old stuff. plenty of people get millions of views on shorts and tiktok with it. the algorithm doesn't really care about the tts itself, it cares about retention. if your script is boring people skip and you get zero views. @drew2 just make sure you use the "Natural" voices in the settings otherwise it sounds too flat.
Free TTS may be surprisingly effective in natural use. I have watched videos that got decent traffic thanks to their simple TTS bcz of how good content, editing nd opening lines were. In any case video quality nd viewer retenttion take precedence over the type of voice.
EDGE TTS is not bad at all when it comes to validation; especially useful if you want to validate an idea for content. Views will always be more dependent on the niche, editing, hook, and delivery rather than the voice. Best practice is to test TTS and then upgrade if the channel gets momentum

Edge TTS is a good option if you edit the pacing and pronunciation a bit before publishing.
Free TTS may work, but opinion would tend to be more dependent on the message, editing, and retention rather than the voice. Edge TTS is good for testing purposes, but when it comes to scalability, I would compare it against some AI voices and analyze audience retention first.

You can easily get millions of views with Edge TTS because it sounds highly natural and smooth, but make sure to edit visuals engagingly to avoid YouTube's repetitious content monetization ban.

Measuring views depends entirely on the video content, script quality, topic, and platform you upload it to, and is not limited by the TTS tool.

Edge is good enough, yeah. I ran a few faceless shorts with the free voices and the range was stupid wide... some died at 300 views, one crossed 180k, same voice. Biggest difference was first 2 seconds + captions + cutting out dead air. Also dont leave the default speed, bump it a little and fix weird pronunciations or people notice fast.

Views really depend more on the content/hook than the TTS voice itself Edge TTS sounds decent and free, plenty of people use it for faceless content without any noticeable views drop.

Opinions on this matter differ based on the content, scripting, editing, thumbnails, and viewers attention span rather than the Text To Speech service utilized. Edge TTS may work well sometimes, while a robotic voice may cause users to unsubscribe quickly. I would try out a couple of videos first and see what seems to work and then decide based on retention.

Go ahead and leverage Edge TTS for your faceless videos, mate! The voiceover itself is never the bottleneck for your views. I've run faceless channels using free TTS: some videos flatlined at 300 views, while other blew up to 180k+ using the exact same voice. Heck, on Spanish YouTube, there are 1M+ subscriber channels still printing money using that ancient Loquendo voice from 2009.

I don't think there's a specific view limit just because you're using free text-to-speech software. What I feel is how natural the voice sounds. I've seen many people improve free AI voices by rewriting scripts better, adding pauses, and doing some basic audio processing. If the voice is engaging to viewers, that's far more important than whether it's free or paid
