One of my videos suddenly stopped getting views

Hey everyone,

I had one video doing really well for a few weeks and it was bringing most of the views to my channel. Views were pretty consistent every day, and it was also getting good suggested traffic.
But suddenly, almost overnight, views dropped a lot for no clear reason. I did not change the title, thumbnail, or anything major. Even suggested traffic looks much lower now, which is confusing.
I am still getting some views, but nowhere near what it was before. Not sure if this is normal on YouTube or if I should try changing the thumbnail/title to help it recover.
Has anyone gone through something similar? Did the video recover on its own or did you have to make changes?
I have even experienced this before. There r times that You Tube promotes the video strongly and once its popularity dies down naturally it is time to act on this. I will firsst see the analytics bcoz sometimes this dip is normal and the video gets better after.

I guess it is much more common than people think. The momentum of the video can be affected even when u do not make any changes to ur side. Instead of editing in a rush I would concentrate on creating new content nd watching how the video performs. Some old videos regain popularitty after some time.

I think that's completely normal. I've had a few videos like that on my channel older videos suddenly stopped getting new views. I think it's because they're no longer being recommended by the algorithm.

While many concentrate on their CTR, i would look into the videos that brought the suggested views prior to and following the loss. If anything was altered in terms of the sourcees, chances are it is the work of YT itself and not your video. In any case, leave everything alone and use this one as an example for the next.

However, i would fst determine if there had been any changes in the traffic source before changing anything about the title and the thumbnail. Sometimes suggested traffic might disappear bcz of YouTube attempt to pair the video with a new audience inspite the fact that your statistics remain more or less constant. However, if you have even some traffic from searching or browsing, it might be much better to keep the video.

I've seen that happen before. A sudden drop in views or suggested traffic isn't necessarily because you did something wrong. YouTube has changed how it distributes content, and videos are losing recommendations due to stricter viewer retention standards. If your CTR or viewer retention rate drops, that can also reduce your chances of getting recommendations. I don't think your video is dead, and if your key metrics are still stable, I recommend waiting a while longer before making any changes

It is very common with you tube. the video gets a great boost nd then suddenly slows down bcuzz the algorithm decides to go elsewherre. i would anallyze the data before i do anything. if the metrics are good then u never know, there might be another boost around the corner.

this is one of the frustrating things about utube a video can be performing well nd then suddenly lose momenttum for no apparent reason. this does not necesarily mean that the algorithm has decided to stop favoring the video just that there has been a change in demand nd recommendation cycle. i would go with analyzing the numbers beffore making any changes to the video.

I do not think i would hurry and change the name or thumbnail. Instead, i would see if the people who were watching the video have just moved on to something else in the same subject.
the engagement level is still gud, then i would make another video and connect them. That way sometimes can be enough to bring back the old video.

Maybe check if similar videos are getting more attention now. Sometimes the drop is not a problem with your video, it’s just a change in viewer interest.

Yes, it's very normal on YouTube. It's an issue with the algorithm. Place all your videos in a playlist and upload new content. The video can still recover, don't change anything .
