Can you still buy followers?

Buying followers might help you increase your follower count, but it won't help you increase engagement.

Inflating fake followers is extremely unsafe because Instagram actively flags and purges bot activity, doing so will not only wipe out your purchased followers but also trigger shadowbans, destroy engagement, or result in an account suspension.
 
I haven't seen accounts get banned just for buying followers, but fake followers definitely aren't doing your engagement any favors.
 
A sudden increase in followers with almost no likes or comments can look unusual and may affect how the account performs.
 
Nothing will happen to your account but ofc your engagement and organic reach will tank, which takes a lot of time, energy and organic activity to get it back up again so its overall not worth it. Steady and Slow Growth is better than buying fake ones.
 
Buying or inflating followers won't necessarily get your account flagged by itself, but it can hurt your account in other ways. Low-quality or fake followers usually don't engage with your content, which can reduce your engagement rate and make it harder to measure real performance.


If your goal is long-term growth, focusing on attracting genuine followers is generally a much safer and more effective approach.
 
From what I've seen, buying followers alone usually won't get an account banned. The bigger issue is that fake followers hurt your engagement rate, and Instagram's recommendation system seems to pick up on that. If you're going to do it, I'd keep it minimal and focus more on getting real engagement.
 
It’s not completely safe. Instagram can detect and remove fake followers, and suspicious activity may lead to restrictions. Fake followers also lower engagement, so targeted organic growth is safer.

your account will not be safe because Instagram continuously flags inauthentic activity, where inflating fake followers ruins your engagement rate and triggers shadowbans or account suspension

absolutely, buying those zombie accounts only ruins your engagement rate and wastes money, so investing in quality content to drive organic traffic remains the only sustainable path forward.
 
Instagram doesn't typically suspend accounts just for having fake followers, but buying or inflating followers can hurt your engagement rate and may reduce your content's performance over time.
 
It might not get flagged right away, but fake followers usually do more harm than good. I'd rather have 1,000 real followers who engage than 100,000 who never interact.
 
Instagram has gotten much better at detecting fake or lowm quality followers Even if your account isn't banned it can affect your engagement and credibility
