High Authority link's can help build trust faster, While low authority links often have a smaller effect on rankings, I'd rather have a few quality link's from relevant sites than a large number of low-quality Ones.

This is just a simple thing, A high authority backlink comes from a authoritative website that have strong metrics such as a high DA, DR and traffic. Conversely, a low authority backlink comes from a lesser known site lacking these trust signals
