- The 4% organic is the number to watch. It's expected at 3 weeks old Google hasn't had time to crawl and index properly. But it also means everything we've built on the SEO side (clean tag taxonomy, 74 indexed tag pages, deduplicated titles, sitemap fixes) is a 2-3 month bet, not an immediate win.
- The 71% social dependency is the uncomfortable truth. One platform ban = losing most traffic overnight. Diversifying into organic is the priority, not a nice-to-have.

Internal search

241 internal searches, 126 unique queries visitors are actively looking for specific content. This is useful: it tells me what to prioritize in the catalog.

Bottom line

Healthy engagement metrics, well-targeted audience, organic still near zero. Nothing alarming for a site this young, but the SEO work needs to compound before it shows up here.
Will recheck in 30 days and see if the tag pages start pulling organic.

[Progress update] 07/16/2026 - import filtering & cleanup (self-hosted FR adult tube)

Short but necessary session — spent most of it tightening the import pipeline after noticing garbage slipping through daily.

The problemWith 2 videos imported per run, every bad import is 50% of the day's content. I was seeing: sub-60-second teasers, promotional content for other sites, AI-generated videos (some in Spanish), trailers labeled "bande annonce", and recurring junk from the same sources showing up every single run.

What I fixed !

1. Hard duration filter. Added MIN_DURATION = 60 to both import scripts. Anything under a minute is skipped before any other check. Eliminated the manual DELETE cycle I was doing every morning.
2. Two-layer exclusion system. The existing filter ran on the original English title. Problem: some junk only reveals itself after translation (AI labels, French promo phrases). Added a second filter that runs on the translated French title specifically — catches [Généré par IA], bande annonce, à ne pas manquer and similar patterns that would never appear in the English source.
3. Expanded blocklist. Added recurring offenders identified from the import logs: a specific search query that kept returning promo content, a studio name, a recurring AI World Cup fantasy series, and two actress names that kept slipping past the language filter.

LessonOn a small-volume import (2 videos/day), quality control matters more than quantity. One bad video is 50% of your daily output. Worth spending time on the filter rather than cleaning up manually every day.

Pipeline is tighter now, will monitor the next few days to see if anything still slips through.

[Progress update] 07/31/2026 - filter hardening & SSH rescue (self-hosted FR tube)

Mostly a maintenance session, tightening the import pipeline after two weeks of daily cleanup.

The problem I was solving

Since going live with automated imports, I've been manually deleting 5-10 videos per day: AI-generated content, promotional teasers for other sites, webcam content, non-French videos that slipped through the language filter. That's not sustainable at 2 videos/day import rate, one bad import is 50% of daily output.

Two-layer filtering

The existing filter only ran on the original English title. Problem: some junk only reveals itself after translation into French, AI labels like [Généré par IA], promo phrases like bande annonce or à ne pas manquer. Added a second filter that runs specifically on the translated French title. Combined with the existing English-title blocklist, most garbage is now caught before it hits the database.

Also identified a recurring pattern on one source: two specific videos kept coming back every single run because they sit permanently at the top of a popular search query. Deleting them was pointless, they'd be back the next morning. The fix was blocking their exact titles in the exclusion list so they're skipped at import time, not cleaned up after.

SSH lockout

Lost access to the server for a few hours, forgot the passphrase on my SSH private key. Ended up using the VNC console through the hosting panel to get back in, then used PuTTYgen to reload the key and re-save it without a passphrase. Lesson: store your SSH key passphrase somewhere, or just don't set one if you're the only user.

Side issue: external hard drive was spinning down after 1 minute due to Windows power settings. Fixed via advanced power options — set disk timeout to 0.

Current state

Pipeline is cleaner. Still doing a daily eyeball check on new imports but the manual deletion rate has dropped significantly. Organic traffic starting to tick up slightly, will share proper numbers in the next Matomo update.

Quick numbers check after a full month of operation.

Period: July 2 → July 30

• 3,175 visits — roughly 3x the previous period
• 16,153 page views
• 54% bounce rate (down from 57% — improving)
• 3 min 34s average session duration
• 819 internal searches, 376 unique keywords

What's working

Volume tripled without any paid traffic or new acquisition channel, just consistent daily posting on one social account and the catalog growing at 4 videos/day. The internal search numbers are interesting: 376 unique keywords tells me visitors are actively looking for specific content, which means intent is there.

One clear spike mid-July, roughly 3-4x normal daily traffic for 2 days, then back to baseline. Came from a single post that got traction. Reminder that social-driven traffic is spiky and unpredictable, one post can move the needle significantly, but you can't rely on it consistently.

What I'm watching

Organic search is still a small slice of traffic. All the SEO work done this month (clean tag pages, deduplicated titles, proper sitemap) hasn't had time to compound yet, Google is slow. Expecting to see movement in GSC over the next 4-6 weeks.

Session duration dropped slightly (-27%) which I attribute to more new visitors exploring less. Bounce rate improving suggests the ones who stay are finding what they want.

Overall: healthy growth trajectory for a 5-week-old site running on autopilot.

First proper look at Google Search Console coverage data, ~5 weeks in.

Current state

• 11,844 pages indexed
• 10,769 pages not indexed
• 0 server errors (5xx)
• 0 non-critical issues

The numbers that need context

4,603 "not found" (404) looks alarming, isn't. Our deleted videos return 410 (Gone) confirmed via curl, which is the correct signal for Google to deindex cleanly. The 404s are likely malformed URLs or external links Google picked up, nothing actionable on our end.

2,389 pages with redirects, mostly the old /video.php?id=X URLs from eporner imports that now have proper slugs. Google is following the redirects fine.

1,773 detected, not indexed + 1,359 crawled, not indexed, this is the real number to watch. Google is finding the pages but judging them not worth indexing. Classic thin-content signal. We spent the last two weeks fixing exactly this: deduplicating ~200 titles, adding tag taxonomy across 5,000+ videos, expanding the sitemap to cover 74 tag listing pages. None of that has had time to compound yet.

160 duplicate pages, Google found URLs it considers duplicates of each other. Down from what it would have been before the title deduplication work. Expect this to keep dropping.

What I'm watching next

The "detected, not indexed" bucket is the one that matters. If our SEO fixes are working, that number should start dropping in 4-6 weeks as Google recrawls and reassesses. If it doesn't move, it means the content still isn't differentiated enough and we'd need to look at descriptions or other signals.

The indexed count (11,844) is already solid for a 5-week-old site with no backlinks and no paid traffic. Organic impressions are low but climbing. The foundation is there now it's a waiting game.

If your website is new and you already have 4600 pages with not fount i can tell you this website will have a huge issue ... the biggest mistake to remove so many videos on a brand new website ... better keep this domain as testing and start a few more ...
