As far as i am concerned, the most significant aspect of all is treating the website as one entity, not just an assortment of separate keywords. creating the necessarry supporting material and linking it accordinigly allows for greater stability in rankings, since the linkss appear to work a lot better after the site acquires its own relevancy.
Another area where I have not heard much praise has been the elimination of content overlap on pages. When there were multiple posts fightinng over the same intent, sometimes the best way to go was to merge or separate them rather than add another blog or any backlink.
Internal linking is more powerful than most people think.
One of the most important changes that I have observed is that site architecture is emerging as an independent factor that can help in boosting the rankings . it means that having a great site architecture is much better than adding one more group of weakly related content pieces. Links also play their role in that process but in combination with gud site architecture.
The most beneficial strategy that i have recently been using is to edit and improve the pages which already have some impressions but not that much enough clicks or traffic. This has involved evaluating the expecitations of the query and the reality of the page and then tweaking my approach accordingly. most of times, this has led to much better outcomes than writing yet another article.
This is my greatest success because of creating my structure based on relevancy not authority. i believe that i would prefer to have fewer but highly relevant pages instead of add more content or get links for each new keyword. When i create the proper structure and make sure about the intent of my site, even a few baciklinks become valuable.
What I am doing right now is cleaning up cannibaliziation and re inforcing the existing pages getting impressions. Adding more content without any sense just does not work anymore. I get more consistent results cleaning up cannibalization and reinforcing the existing pages rather than add new keywords and backlinks.
Backlinks still matter, but topical authority and solid internal linking are doing much more of the heavy lifting now. Consistent, relevant content has been giving me the most stable rankings after recent updates.
For me, good content and internal linking are working really well. I still build backlinks, but they seem to help more when the site is already well organized.
