While it might be the easiest type of content to test, i do not believe that it is also the easiest content to create. original videos are very easy since you can test out hooks, topics, and the reactions of the audience without depend on the trends or any other pre made content.
While edits and compilaitions can earn you a good number of views, they can not help you learn much on how to build your own audience.
