I know Google prefers websites with genuine organic traffic

Can organic rankings be improved by artificially increasing traffic or does Google detect and ignore such activity

For example:

If my page is ranking around #12 for a keyword and I ask friends or social media followers from different locations to search that keyword click my website, and spend some time on the page would that help improve rankings or have no effect

Google values real user satisfaction, not artificially created traffic. A few genuine visits from friends are unlikely to influence rankings and if the activity appears coordinated or manipulative, Google is generally able to detect and discount it. Focusing on useful content and a great user experience is a much more reliable way to improve rankings.

Few friends' click can not influence ranking, and when you use bots, Google will surely detect it, and downgrade your ranking.

Even building massive diversity links with varied anchors can now push back rankings so be guided.

I wouldn't expect a noticeable ranking boost from that. A handful of friends searching and clicking isn't enough data to move rankings, especially for competitive keywords. Google sees millions of searches and has plenty of signals beyond clicks.

Where people get stuck is assuming traffic alone changes rankings. If a page is sitting around #12, improving the content, matching search intent better, and earning a few quality links will usually have a much bigger impact than trying to manufacture clicks. Real user engagement is valuable, but it needs to happen naturally at scale to matter.

Artificially increasing traffic is unlikely to improve Google rankings. Google can recognize unusual or coordinated click patterns and may ignore them. Asking friends or followers to search and click your page usually has little or no lasting effect. Real ranking improvements come from valuable content, relevant backlinks, and a good user experience.

i would not depend on that for SEO purposes. it is okay to have a few real visits by ur friends but it certainlly will not be enough to shift things around. based on my personal expperience working on the actual page good content nd links nd getting some backlinks works better than changing the way ppl behave in search engines.

I will not rely on artificial click to achieve high ratings. there is no point in having some temporary surges of traffic and neglecting the trend of such behavior. Page optimization and other measure will work more effectively.

Google's pretty good at spotting fake clicks, and it can even hurt you. Focus on content and links instead.

No, not reliably. Google can usually detect unnatural or coordinated search activity. A few friends or followers searching, clicking, and staying on your page is unlikely to improve rankings. Long-term SEO gains come from quality content, relevant backlinks, and pages that genuinely satisfy search intent.

A small number of genuine visits from friends probably won't make a noticeable difference in rankings. Google is good at recognizing unnatural patterns, so it's better to focus on earning real traffic through helpful content, strong SEO, and a good user experience.

Real Engagement is always valuable, but asking people to search and click is not something I'd expect to produce lasting ranking gains, Long term improvements usually come from better content and Authority.

i believe there is a huge distinction between having traffic nd making ranking signals. having visitors by promoting your page really helps since that will mean the content u r providing has some value but asking ppl to pretend they are performing searches does not really make any difference. if a page is close to being on the first page then improving its content nd user expperience makes more sense.

Id probably focus on improving the page itself rather than trying to influence traffic signals check content search intent internal linking and overall user experience those areas usually bring more sustainable improvements over time

I think I'd be careful about relying on traffic signals alone. Even if you notice a short-term change, it's hard to know whether it was actually caused by the visits or by something else. I'd personally spend more time improving the page itself, making sure it satisfies the search intent, and earning relevant links over time. Those changes tend to be much easier to measure and maintain in the long run.

i have never been very optimistic regarding the use of fake trafic for search engine optimization. the search engines of today r more sophisticated nd r capable of analyzing traffic on a much larger scale than mere clicks nd time spent. if the page is not able to move from its position to the first page it means there is something lackking when compared to other pages ranking higher.
