As quora continues to evolve , some topics become significantly more competitive than others . For those actively building authority , generating traffic , or promoting a brand , identifying these changes early can be valuable.

what are most reliable warning signs that a topic is becoming saturated before answer visibility actually starts to drop?

According to me, one of the biggest warning signs is when new questions in that topic start getting a lot more answers much faster than before.

Another sign is when your answers are still getting views, but the growth rate starts slowing down even though your content quality has not changed. I also pay attention to how many established writers are entering the topic. When everyone starts answering the same type of questions, competition usually increases quickly.

For me, a sudden increase in new answers, more active contributors, and slower view growth are usually the first signs that a topic is becoming saturated.

A good way to look at it is to focus on engagement quality rather than just volume. When you start seeing the same few accounts repeatedly dominating top answers, that’s usually a early sign saturation is building.

I have seen that a topic is getting saturated when it becomes harder to rank, even with well written answers.

A big clue is when newer answer get pushed down quickly and most of the top spots are dominated by older, established answers with thousands of views. when the starts happening consistently, it a sign that the topic is becoming much more competitive

i think keeping track of engagement trends and answer visibility can help to understand how competitive a topic is becoming.

Quora topics are becoming competitive before visibility drops due to
  • More frequent answers
  • Lower reach with the same quality
  • More expert profiles joining
  • More promotional content
  • Top answers stay stable.
I would say the best approach is to find specific subtopics and create unique and helpful answers before the competition becomes too high

The clearest warning sign is a sharp drop in the upvote to view ratio despite steady views, alongside questions getting flooded with low effort AI answers and paid ads hogging top spots.

I would watch for repeated answers, fewer new answers getting visibility, and the same profiles dominating the topic. If engagement starts dropping despite steady views, that’s another strong sign the topic is getting saturated.

I’m still new to Quora, so I’m learning this as well. I usually look at how quickly a new answer moves down the page after posting. If that starts happening much faster than before, I feel like the topic may be getting more competitive.

One thing I’d watch is when the questions themselves start feeling repetitive If I keep seeing almost the same question again and again, it feels like the topic is getting crowded. At that point, I’d rather look for a smaller angle instead of fighting over the same thing.

I’m still learning Quora myself, but I think a topic can feel crowded when you keep seeing the same type of answers everywhere. At that point, finding a less common angle might be worth trying.

I’d probably watch how much attention newer answers get. If older ones keep getting the reactions and new ones are mostly ignored, I’d feel like that topic is becoming harder for new people to enter.

You’ll usually notice more people jumping on new questions really fast and the answers getting longer or more polished from accounts that already have some traction.

When a fresh question starts filling up with replies within the first hour instead of sitting empty for a while, that’s often the early sign the topic is heating up.
