Solid method, the Wikipedia dead link angle is a nice source most people overlook. One thing worth adding for anyone trying it, check the backlink profile for spam and the domain's history on archive.org before registering, a lot of high-DA expired domains got that DA from PBN abuse or were used for junk before, and those don't flip well once a buyer does their own due diligence. From what I've seen clean history matters more than the DA number itself for actually closing a sale.

He probably bought them on Namecheap in order to list it on their marketplace.

GoDaddy has a more popular database but no privacy so its a give and take.
