Hello dear members,

I am starting my eBay.de journey after I tested almost all the side-hustles, even Amazon FBA Wholesale. I was running atleast 200-300pcs/month from Romania but the profit margin was so low because, I was selling on Amazon.DE and I was needed to pay the 3PL and that's why the profit margin was shrinking.

I am a 21y university student in Romania working at a 9-5 job and I want to make enough money to pay for my flight school.

Things that I started working on:
  • I rented Germany VPS, installed AdsPower
  • Researching of the eBay fees and how the platform works
  • https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/free-ebay-stealth-guide-2025-how-to-create-ebay-stealth-accounts-and-start-selling-learn-how-to-securely-operate-ebay-stealth-accounts.1736436/ (I will do the warmup process for almost 2 weeks)

Things that are on my mind;
  • Research of the winning products (tbh this thing really confusing because I tried various ebay analyzing market sites and on all of them I got different results for same product)
  • Starting to contact various 3PL for Germany and analyze all the odds)
  • Buy max 10 products to list for warmup the account
  • Find better supplliers (I'm planning to work with alibaba on the first warmup 10 products)

Thanks for reading!

  • I scheduled a video meeting with a 3PL from Germany, I hope that our collaboration will go further.
  • I bought 3 items for the account warmup, still doing user tasks everyday.
  • I think I found a good item for a test listing of 10 products, I am bit confused if I should send the first order to my home or directly to the fulfillment (I want to check the quality of the product)

Thanks for your time!

  • Long story short, my first eBay account got suspended right after I listed my first item. The email said it was flagged as high fraud risk. I remembered I have an old account where I previously sold a pair of Alexander McQueen sneakers. I listed 2 items currently and I see that it's running good.
  • I changed my strategy. Selling physical products isn't practical for me right now because I'm based in Romania and the shipping costs are too high for my budget. I found some good physical products, but the logistics make it difficult, so I've decided to focus on selling digital products instead.

Thanks for your time!

  • My first sale finally happened, it gave me the motivation I needed to keep going.

  • Today I made my 2nd sale! It looks like my product is gaining traction much faster than I expected. I'm really excited to see where this goes.
  • The only area I'm struggling with right now is finding better suppliers. My profit margin is still relatively low because I'm focused on building my reputation first. My current supplier only gives me a price that results in about a 54% profit margin if I buy more than 100 units at a time.
Congrats on the first sale. Two things worth thinking about now rather than in three months, both about the digital pivot.

First - eBay treats digital/downloadable goods very differently to physical. Policy is restrictive, listings get pulled, and the bigger issue is dispute exposure: digital items have no tracking, so on an INR or "not as described" claim you have almost nothing to evidence your side with. On physical goods a tracking number wins you the case. On digital you're relying on the platform's goodwill, and a run of disputes hits account health fast. Read the current digitally delivered goods policy properly before you scale listings, not after.

Second, and this is the one I'd actually act on: your entire business currently lives inside one account on one platform that has already shown it'll flag you. That's a single point of failure sitting on top of your income. You just found out how fast it can go.

So while volume is still low, start capturing something you own - even just an email or a landing page the buyer touches post-purchase. eBay owns the customer relationship, the traffic and the payment rails; you own nothing except the listing. Anyone selling on someone else's platform is renting, and the rent can be cancelled without notice.

Also worth pricing your time honestly. You're doing 9-5, university and this. Digital products scale better than physical for exactly your constraints - no 3PL, no shipping from Romania, no inventory - so the pivot makes sense. Just make sure margin per hour is actually improving, because that's the number that gets you to flight school.
Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it very much!

I honestly don't mind if someone opens a dispute on eBay. If a customer has an issue, I'd rather send them another digital account immediately or issue an instant refund than waste time arguing.

I'm not trying to make quick money. My goal is to build a business that can scale over the long term, even if that means sacrificing some profit in the beginning.

I'm still trying to figure out how the whole stealth account system works. I've been following a thread from a guy on this forum who's selling really well, although he's doing dropshipping. It got me thinking that stealth accounts could provide some long-term security if one account ever runs into issues.

Thanks again for your reply! :)

Wat about taxes? And Registering a business once you sell more than 1000 euro they will ask you for a gewerbe

  • I listed another product and managed to sell 5 copies before eBay removed the listing with a policy warning. For now, I'm sticking with just one product.
  • The last three days have been really encouraging..I’ve received 18 orders, which is a huge motivation to keep going.
In the meantime, I also found one of my old eBay accounts from 2018. It doesn't have any selling or buying history, but it's been around for years and is well warmed up. I'm thinking about using this account as well to expand my listings.

Thanks for your message, @Gorush!

I would probably register a company once I exceed €1,000 in revenue. After that, I'll set up the business in Romania and register it for tax purposes in Germany as well. That's the plan I'm currently working toward. Hopefully everything goes smoothly.

Thanks for your time!

I dont know what products you have but you can also try ebay kleinanzeigen

Works well for some products
