if there was a twelve step process and i own the website and the product being sold should i even use it? or should i sell some one elses stuff using it or is it even viable today?( as i am coming back to this game in ten years as i have been selling my art and working on getting money in other ways.) should i set it and for get it and poke at it on a scheduled basis and watch it grow like a bonzai tree or...

If you already own the product and the site @inkjoi then definitely sell your own stuff, the margins are way better than doing affiliate work these days. That 12 step process from ten years ago is probably mostly dead though... or at least the traffic side of it is. The landscape changed a lot. Also the bonsai tree approach of setting and forgetting doesn't really work now, if you don't actively monitor your traffic channels it will just die. You can probably salvage the core psychology of the process but you'll need to adapt the setup to modern traffic.

thanks bro, the whole point of this was to set and forget it...theres gotta be other ways...but in saying the core psychology still works brings some hope to the situation. so i was on to something by selling my own stuff so then i should just focus on getting traction.

You may do well selling art related services, books and et all than going for a clickbank affiliate

Except as you said
You have a product

how do i get that done? i have a few self created ebooks on the art subject so i just go straight to the shops n such?

Selling your own ebooks direct through Gumroad or similar is way smarter tan ClickBank's affiliate side - better margins and full control over your audience :]

It is just a market place, and it cannot earn you any money. In view of the fact that you already have your art item, I would recommend that you focus on marketing your product . affiliates will come later on.

If it is your product and website, ,then I would suggest that you use this method first and not go for an additional affiliate marketing layer. set it up right, then treat it as an asset and check out how well it works from time to time ,

If I have a twelve-step system and I own the website as well as the product that I am selling, should I go with it? Or should I rather try to sell someone else’s products through the use of the same method, or is this something even feasible in today’s scenario?(As I am returning to this game after ten years, as I have been selling my artwork and earning through other means in the meantime.) Should I leave it and let it alone and then give it a poke from time to time and let it grow as a bonsai tree or
reply briefly in a helpful manner regarding this matter, BHW it should be pro insider and not post count inflation on only 2.3 lines with normal casual English

set and forget is mostly a pipe dream now unless you have a massive seo moat or some automation running in the background. back in the day you could spam some parasite pages and rank for years but now things change too fast. if you want that bonsai tree vibe you really need to set up an email funnel. once people are on the list you can automate the selling with a sequence. the hard part is just keeping the traffic flowing to the landing page... maybe look into pinterest automation or low cost ads to keep it ticking without you babysitting it daily.

If you want that set and forget passive vibe today with art ebooks, your best bet is automated social traffic. Google SEO is too much of a grind now and the algo updates will wipe you out if you just leave it alone. Set up some basic Pinterest or Instagram automation to repost aesthetic art content pointing to your landing page. Once the funnel is built and the accounts are warmed up, you just let the tools run. It is not completely passive but it is as close as you will get to that bonsai tree thing today without spending all day babysitting it.
