Any tools to track local SEO rankings accurately?

The most reliable rank trackers for local SEO are Local Falcon and Local Dominator, as they show results based on the geo-grid of Google Maps.

The "inconsistent based on location" thing is usually a geo-grid problem, not a tool problem. If a tracker only checks one point (or zooms out too far), you get mushy averages. The accurate ones scan a grid of coordinates around the business and report rank at each pin, so you actually see "top 3 by the shop, gone 2 miles out."

What's worked for me:

Honestly no single tool is 100% best practice is run a geo-grid tool + a manual incognito check in the actual target area. Daily checking just shows noise; weekly is enough to spot real trends.

From my experience, having a local rank tracker makes things less of a guessing game.
 
most of these tools just query the same search api and charge a massive premium for the visual grid. if you want actual accuracy without burning through local falcon credits, use the gs location changer extension on chrome and check manually with a clean profile. for bulk tracking i just run a python script using scale serp api with lat/long coordinates. much cheaper and you actually control the geo-location parameter instead of relying on cached tool data.
 
consistency matters more than tool accuracy check trends not daily jumps
 
Accuracy usually depends on how well the tool simulates real local search conditions, tools that allow precise geo targeting down to city or zip level tend to give better results
without that rankings can look very inconsistent
