Link Sellers, Do You Get Conversions From These Types Of Aggressive Outreach?

Weeks ago I discussed a topic that's similar to this. Talked about the sad state of link building industry.

Now, I'm taking it further asking link sellers.

Across all my sites, I'm sure since the past year I've gotten close 1k outreach email advertising their link building services. Some keep sending even when you reply letting them know you're not interested.

So, I'm curious to know if it truly converts.

Because I don't ever see myself patronizing any.

I can't just send money to one random guy just because he said he can offer xyz service. There's also no way to know they're not scammers.

In my opinion, they're mostly if not all scammers.

So as a link seller that outreaches to potential clients, do you achieve any positive results from these?

I don't sell links but I have worked with agencies and individuals on link building projects where I handled outreach and fulfillment

The difference between what I saw the agencies I worked with doing and the generic lists that are always shared by many sellers is also what you described in your post a few weeks ago. Proper link building should be done on a per-project basis, with research for each project to find niche-relevant and non-spammy sites based on what that particular project needs

That is mostly what I see agencies do better, at least some agencies. They don't just keep one list that serves all their projects. New research is always ongoing to find quality links for their clients. Unlike what is common on BHW with many sellers, most of them just keep sharing the same links among each other and you will probably end up being offered the same sites even by different sellers.

I also think buyers don't make the situation any better because I always see many WTB posts where they literally ask sellers to share the sites they have and the prices. So, you are basically asking for a list of sites they already have on hand. Whether those sites suit your project or not, they will just dump the list on you to sort through

This also makes it look like cheap or spammy links are acceptable to buyers since I don't really think simply asking sellers to share a list and prices is the right approach

I still know people and agencies that offer link building services the proper way : )

To be honest this thread is focusing on a different angle. I'm asking how many clients they're able to score by sending unsolicited mails to their contact email.

They're trying to get me to patronize their service by sending gazillions of mails. Now, I'm asking is this profitable and sustainable?

I'm not even talking about the quality yet, the quality was discussed in the previous thread.

honestly running cold outreach myself for ranktunnel for years now n yea it converts but conversion rate is brutal low, like sub 1% typically, most volume sellers just accept that math n send thousands to get a handful of replies. problem is most of them dont even personalize or check if the site is relevant to recipient, just blast the same template everywhere which is why it feels so scammy n spammy to ppl receiving it. the ones that actually convert consistently are doing smaller targeted batches w real personalization, not the mass blast approach most sellers here do

There are many careless buyers easily lured by numbers.

I would say most people still buy those all-in-one packages on Fiverr or other freelancing websites with spammy thousands of links.

An even larger amount of people still take DR/DA very seriously as an official metric, those numbers deceive them.

In this case, those unsolicited spam emails can work for most people. Not for professionals, but for newbies, beginners or small brands, self employed workers, tiny SAAS, etc it can definitely still work

Well, if I have to judge based on my own experience, it's a total waste of time.
Sometimes I wonder why they do it. Also, it's always random email addresses or free Gmail accounts they use for this outreach

I'd guess it's somehow getting some conversions because if not, it's just stupidity.

I'm sure everyone gets these kinds of emails all the time. Many also always end up in spam.
Even recently, I have been getting DMs on social media from guest post sellers especially on LinkedIn

most replies are noise, but a few people do buy because they’re desperate for quick seo

Exactly my thought. It should be a waste of time at this point. I've never gotten such mail and even considered it for a second.

It's getting out of hands, one time I got such on LinkedIn, though it was once.

I tried this with my old clients. I made a list of the work that i did for them and researched if they improved after my links to leverage that while emailing. clients were around 200, so i started sending emails to the big spenders who forgot they ordered from me. I got more orders from them.

To others that were less spender. i sent bulk emails to them - no replies. 0% of the people i mailed got back to me. I emailed in the same way you mentioned with a list of guest post websites and metrics.
