The main things I consider when choosing a registrar are the availability of good support, smooth transfers, and fair prices for renewals. Porkbun and Namecheap work well in most cases, whereas premium/aged domains require a completely different approach

Namecheap or Spaceship. Good prices, easy to manage, and I've never had any issues with them.

Porkbun has become my go-to registrar because their renewals have remained reasonable and customer service is good. For bulk domain registration, I still consider Spaceship because their prices are often more affordable.

I usually go with Namecheap it's been simple to use and the pricing is reasonable

For investing, NakamaID is a good start.

Cloudflare is the cheapest for renewals since they don't markup the wholesale price, but it sucks if you need to use external nameservers for PBN setups. For bulk throwaways and burner domains i mostly use dynadot or sav lately. spaceship is okay too but their UI is kinda annoying when you have more than a few dozen domains to manage.
