Hello everyone, this is my first post here.
I have recently started using Tiktok to drive some traffic to my website.
As everyone knows, in videos links are not clickable and as far as I know only business accounts can have clickable links in their Bio

But the more I research this, the more I see that people say business accounts get less views, likes and traffic in general which would be a big problem.

I would love to hear your guys expertise on this and if anyone knows another trick to get the links to work without a business account I am open for all suggestions

There is currently no basis to conclude that TikTok Business accounts inherently receive less promotion than TikTok Personal accounts. If two accounts post content of comparable quality and generate similar engagement signals, there is no evidence that having a Business account—in and of itself—results in reduced reach.

Haven't seen strong proof of that. Good content still matters more. I'd only switch to a business account if you really need the link in bio.

Just because you see other people having their business page because they have the bio link doesn’t mean that you should rush and have your account become a business page. You need to grow your account first and then try changing it later

Thanks for the input, I havent found anything official in this either and needed some clarification :)

Well the whole idea behind this Account is to get traffic to my links and I get more and more comments about "link in bio does not work"

The best possible solution right now would prabably be "dm me ..... to get clarification" or something like this.

but it can be tried out rather than just dependiing on ppl opinion. there r many opinions on accounts of busineses. But it appears like quality of content nd engagement of audience play an extremely important role here. So the strategy could include creating content that provokes curiiosity among people nd makes them go to ur account.

Personal profiles often generate better reach than business pages. You should attract interest to your personal profile first and then direct people to your business page via a link; this approach is far more effective and builds greater trust.

A clickable link isnt worth sacrificing reach If the content creates enough curiosity, people will check the bio without needing a direct link.

Honestly, I've seen zero proof of Business accounts getting shadowbanned or tanking your reach, and my own accounts run perfectly fine. Content quality is still the ultimate leverage. Only make the switch if yoy actually need that bio link for your funnel.

The whole business account reach thing is mostly bro science tbh. I run some business accounts and reach is fine, its the content that decides everything not the account type.

That said, the "link in bio doesnt work" comments are a bigger tell imo. If people are confused, dont just rely on the bio link. Pin a comment on your videos telling them exactly where to tap, or do the "comment X and ill dm you" route like you mentioned... that usually converts way better anyway because you get engagement plus a warm dm.

If your whole account exists to push traffic, just switch to business and stop overthinking it. Grow it, test your own numbers, and ignore the doom posts.

There's no evidence that a business account will get less reach than a normal one.

I think building a TikTok business page usually requires more effort and investment than building a personal brand, so focus on building your personal account first, and then you can create a business account more easily.

No, that's not true. I published the video on both regular and business accounts. The views for each video were the same, ranging from 100 to 500.

I tested both account types and never noticed a huge difference in reach just because an account was set to Business. The content itself made a much bigger impact. If you're only switching for the clickable bio link, I'd try it and monitor the results for a couple of weeks instead of relying on what people say online.

Based on my observations, it does not seem that using a business account will necessarily decrease reach. What I would do is make sure that the content is engaging and then try out both account types and see which one performs better.

I think this should work fine if you just switch and test it yourself. Content quality matters more than account type. :)

Might be less about Business accounts getting less reach (I don't think they do) and more about people generally not engaging as much with overly corporate accounts. Big difference there. Side note, I think Personal accounts have more leeway with using certain music and content features, so there's that.

If you can, it might be worth testing both. Run the same general content strategy for a while and compare views, profile visits, and website clicks. Getting a lot of views is nice, but the real goal here is getting people to visit the site and actually convert.

Depend on your work relevancy and video quality. I am uploading video on daily basis and getting view approximately 1k to 5k.
