What's the First SEO Tool You Check Every Day?

I generally start with Google Search Console to check performance and clicks, then check Ahrefs for backlinks and keywords.

Search Console comes first because it's free and provides direct insights from Google. Once everything looks fine, I analyze competitors and backlinks using Ahrefs.

Google Search Console is always the absolute first tool I open every morning to check overall site health and impressions. It gives the most accurate picture of organic traffic and alerts you instantly to any weird indexing errors or sudden manual drops. Right after that, checking a standard rank tracker like Ahrefs or Semrush helps catch any subtle keyword movements before diving into the day's work.

Google search console. and brightlocal for keyword checking.

Search console is always my starting point, it's only taking a few minutes to check performance, coverage & indexing, but it can quickly tell me if a site needs attention, everything else comes after that

I use GSC myself, although it is my first point of contact, but do not dwell on day to day variations too much. It is the exceptional variations in traffic, new keywords, and even pages which have traffic but no clicks which are the most helpful.

For me, it's GA4 first. I like to see how organic traffic performed overnight, then I switch to Search Console to understand any changes in clicks and impressions.

I normally begin by using google search console, but I do not simply look at the no of clicks and impressions. rather, I see if there are any odd changes in terms of pages suddenly disappearing from the index, new search queries showing up, or an abrupt change in ranking positions. Such minor signs can hint at something much more significant.

Google Search Console it’s the first place to check for traffic, indexing, and ranking changes.

The first tool I usually check is Google Search Console because it shows real impressions, clicks, and keyword trends from actual users. After that, I'll use Ahrefs to monitor rankings and look for new keyword opportunities or competitor movements. Starting with real performance data helps me prioritize tasks instead of guessing what needs attention.

For me, the first thing is checking the websites I manage. I look at traffic and rankings first, then decide which issue needs attention that day.

Mine as Google Search console along with GA4 and then third party as Semrush
