How important is account age on reddit

I often hear that account age play a big role on reddit , especially when it comes to posting , commenting nd participating in different subreddits. some communities seem to prefer older accounts while others focus more karma and overall engagement.

for those with experience using reddit , how much does account age actually matter?

Account age helps, especially in stricter subreddits. But good karma and genuine activity matter more. A newer account with useful comments can still build trust and participate successfully.
 
Account age is not the most important thing. Good karma and normal activity help too. I've seen my newer accounts do just fine once they start contributing and building a good history.

Yes, Totally agree. Account age matters but not as much as people thinks. Quality content, karma, and audience engagement in comments is also the important factor.
 
account age does matter on reddit, but its is not the most important factor. Many subreddits use account ge and karma requirements to reduce spam.
 
Yeah, It's still matters in many subs to filter out spam and new users. But real engagement, post quality, karma also matter a lot.
 
In my opinion, the age of a Reddit account helps establish credibility and makes it easier to participate in larger subreddits. However, consistently creating valuable content and making meaningful contributions are what truly drive long-term account growth and success.
 
In my experience that account age helps but it is not the deciding factor. I have seen newer accounts perform well once they built a natural posting history and earned some genune engagement. Consistent activity and following each subreddit rules seem to matter more over time.
 
Account age does matter, but its not the only factor. good karma, following subreddit rules and posting helpful comments consistently are usually more important. An older account with no activity often performs worse than a newer account with genuine engagement.

Age of the account is of some assistance particularly in bypassing certain filters on subreddits, but it does not mean everything Real inter action and gaining karma normally play a much larger role

In my opinion age doesn't matter that much as long as your posts are of high quality and get good karma.
 
In my opinion, the age of a Reddit account plays a role in building credibility and makes it easier to engage with larger subreddits. That said, consistently sharing valuable content and contributing meaningfully to discussions are the key factors that drive long-term growth and success on the platform.
 
Account age... Not that important... since everything depends on each profile individually, so account age only helps to access some subreddits that are not available to newly registered accounts. But overall, it's relative.
 
older accounts may have some advantages but reddit communities usually respond better to authentic participation rather than just account age
 
Agreed that quality and karma matter more day to day, but account age still helps in a few specfic ways. Some subreddits have automod rules that filter out accounts under a certain age or karma threshold, so a brand new account can get auto removed before a human even sees the post. Once you clear that bar though, age itself stops mattering much.
