WordPress vs Blogspot: Which is Better for SEO and newbie??

Being a newbie in IM it is bit of a confusion for me to select wordpress or blogspot for a better start. I am a bit confused about the one which does good when it comes to SEO. Can anyone recommend which one to go on with?

I will recommend blogspot if you are new is probably the simples but wordpress give you more option but you need to know little bit how to setup otherwise will be harder

For a beginner both are easy to start with but WordPress is the better choice for seo and long term growth. Blogspot is fine if you just want a free blog but WordPress gives you more flexibility and better optimization options.
 
If you are planning to build a website for the long term, I'd recommend WordPress. It offers more flexibility, stronger SEO options, and complete control over your site. Blogspot is simple to get started with, but its limitations can make it harder to grow as your website expands.

Stay away from Blogspot unless you can't afford hosting and not sure if the site grows in the future. If you want to work at least 10-15 hours per week, then go with wordpress. Blogspot has very little customizations and it's difficult to optimize it for SEO. Most people who start with blogspot switch to wordpress when their site gets consistent traffic but most people who start with wordpress never switch to blogspot. I guess it answers your question.

Thanks I will start with Blogspot first since I am a beginner.
 
I recommend wordpress because it gives you more control over your site and also it is easier to grow your blog in the long run. Blogspot is easy to learn but wordpress is better choice if you seriously want to make a website.
 
Old blogpost the are ranking and getting traffic if you can get those it's of great value. But you are starting from scratch, go with wordpress.org the free one.
 
To continue with subdomain, Blogspot is a good option but if you want your own domain and long term benefit and better SEO options, I would rather suggest Wordpress. WordPress(org) itself won't cost you if you buy domain and hosting....
