How to Use YouTube Comments for Promotion?

Does anyone here use YouTube comments to promote their domain, business, products, or for any other kind of self-promotion?

I'm wondering whether anyone has figured out a reliable system for YouTube comments.

In the past, posting promotional comments was very easy. Almost everything went through, and usunally only the creator could flag or remove the comment. Now YouTube has its own filtering tools. Some comments seem to get shadowbanned immediately, while others only appear under "Newst First". I also see many comments in the newest section that never show up by default under the video and never make it into "Top Comments". Even when they receive upvotes, they still cannot be pushed higher because they appear to be hidden or limited in some way.

Im sure there are people who understand how this system works. I'm looking for experiences from anyone who has tested YouTube comment promotion and understands what affects visibility, filtering and ranking.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Better off making viral videos with your brand embedded. A lot more scope for creativity. (plus its within the rules) I don't ever see any promotional comments about? Maybe i don't look at the right videos...? not sure

I wouldn't be asking about this if I hadn't used it successfully in the past, youtube comments used to generate huge amount of traffic to my domains. Compared with creating videos, it required far less effort and the potential scale was significantly bigger. These days, however, it seems much harder to make this method work

Maybe someone has figured out a way to mention a domain name naturally in a comment without the comment getting hidded/filtered or lock in "newest first". I'm talking about something very subtle, not blatant advertising.
Regarding youtube rules, i don't see this method as a violation as long as it isn't mass spam and the comments aren't just generic marketing nonsense. For youtube, the flood of low quality ai content is probably much bigger problem right now than suble self promo in comments.
 
YouTube comments are good for promotion with adding comments on related niche trend video upload with brand-name or link to redirect viewers and other commenters on advertise/promotion page.
 
I've seen some YouTube comments mention some self-help book to Google or some new memecoin like XRP20 or whatever (can't remember) that would be a brilliant investment according to the commenter. Posted in self-help videos and financial videos respectively.

Yeah same here, haven't seen promotional comments for AGES.
 
I've found genuine, relevant comments perform much better than promotional ones. Focus on adding value first, and any visibility you get tends to last longer.

From what I've seen, comments that genuinely contribute to the discussion tend to remain visible longer. Focusing on value and relevance rather than direct promotion usually leads to better engagement and fewer filtering issues.

YouTube has not publicly disclosed its full algorithm, but extensive testing indicates that whether comments are displayed is typically influenced by these factors.
 
I think genuine comments have a better chance of staying visible Adding value to the discussion seems more effective than trying to promote something
 
I usually leave sincere comments, only when I feel I have something useful to add.
