I run a few big FB pages and link in the comments of my reels directly to monetized YT videos.

Issue is the facebook in-app browser runs no ads inside yt videos for some reason. Blogs work fine and run ads but yt videos never show ads inside FB browser.

Is there a workaround for this? (link spoofers like openinapp dont work with FB either)

To fix the Facebook in-app browser not showing ads on YouTube videos, you should.
Open in External Browser
Check for Updates
Make sure both the Facebook app and your device's operating system are Clear Cache
Try a Different Browser
Reinstall the App
Check Ad Blockers
Ad Settings
Feedback to Facebook

Technical reasons:
Facebook uses its own browser (in-app browser):

Limited cookies, user agents, external tracking.

Not transmitting full referrer → YouTube does not identify the user correctly

There is no 100% technical way to force Facebook to open YouTube outside the app, but you can increase the open rate outside by:
- Using a reputable intermediary site (snipfeed.co – Allows multiple links, user-friendly design; linkfly.to – Has app opening feature if available; bit.ly – Customize shortened links, easy to share, sometimes avoids FB blocks)
- Designing smart content for navigation (add text like: “Watch the full version on YouTube – Link in the first comment! Open with Chrome or App to support me ”)

That's a known issue. Facebook’s in-app browser often blocks or limits ad scripts, including YouTube’s. That’s why your YT videos don’t show ads there, even if monetized.
Workaround:
Add a call-to-action like "Tap the three dots, open in YouTube" or "Watch in YouTube for full quality" in your reel caption or comment. Some creators also use a bridge page (like a simple blog or Linktree-style redirect) to push users out of the in-app browser, but it's hit or miss.
No clean fix for now Facebook wants to keep traffic in-app and Google wants ads to run on their platform only.

Yeah, Facebook’s in-app browser blocks YouTube ads by default, so you lose monetization unless users open in the real YouTube app. Sadly, there’s no reliable workaround yet. Best bet is strong CTAs telling users to "watch on YouTube" directly :K

i know a tool that does exactly this. when someone clicks the link inside facebook, instagram or messenger, it moves them out of the in-app browser and opens the link in the phones native browser instead. send me a pm if you want details.

unfortunatelly i don’t think there’s a legit workaround
I get your concern, but this isn’t some shady hack or exploit. It’s a normal user-driven flow and we’re already using it with Facebook, Instagram and Messenger traffic. I can send you a live example in PM. Works in Fb post content, Facebook comments, Instagram bio and Instagram stories, Messenger but does not work in Facebook bio.

On iPhone

Facebook often prioritizes opening links in its built-in browser. You can:

Tap the share icon or the "..." icon while viewing a link.
Select "Open in Safari" if the option appears.

yeah but i dont mean the user manually tapping “open in safari”. i mean a method where everyone who clicks the link from facebook gets pushed to the native browser automatically. send me a pm if you want, i can explain.
