Hey everyone,

I've been building websites and online tools for quite a few years. Most of my traffic has always come from Google, but SEO has changed a lot lately and I'd like to get better at adapting instead of just hoping the next update goes my way.

That's mainly why I joined BHW. I'm looking forward to seeing what's actually working these days and chatting with people who are in the same space.

See you around!

Welcome! I think a lot of us are worried about the long-term industry that is SEO; are you looking into any angles specifically to replace it?

Thanks! I still think SEO matters, but it feels like we're entering a transition period. My Google traffic has been dropping quite a bit over the last year, while AI search and assistants seem to be sending more and more users. That's the direction I'm really interested in exploring now. I have a feeling things will look very different in a couple of years...

What tools are you using to see that AI assistants are sending you more traffic?

Not yet, actually. I'm not getting much AI traffic today. It's more where I think things are heading. Google traffic has been dropping steadily for me over the past year, so I'd rather start learning how to get visibility in AI assistants now than wait until everyone else is doing it.

Agreed - but you earlier said "AI search and assistants seem to be sending more and more users" - are you tracking this somehow?

AI-powered searche should definitely be kept an eye on, but quitting on SEO is not the wise option. gud content, authority nd credibility will alway have their place in both traditional and AI searche.

You should check out AEO which is SEO basically but for AI LLMs.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm really struggling with SEO when it comes to chatbots... When I tell you that AI search engines and assistants seem to be sending more and more users, that's mostly based on what I'm hearing from people around me. I’ve been working as a freelance developer for 20 years, I’ve always based my SEO on Google, and today I feel lost, a bit like an old-timer, even though I’m only 40

Twenty years of dev work is a real edge here since you can test what actually moves instead of guessing at every update. The AI search shift is throwing off a lot of people, but solid content and authority still carry over. Are you seeing any real traffic come from the chatbots yet, or just noise so far?

Bonjour! Im new aswell! I have been creating websites too! Maybe we can share our experience?!

Sure thing! What kind of websites do you build? I've created several community websites, and now I'm focusing more on apps.

Sure AI-powered search is a technology worth watching out for, but it does not mean that you should forget about SEO. What I find intriguing is learning what it all has in common–quality content, authority, nd definitive answer.
