i keep seeing contents that PBN links are harmful for your website and cause so many penalties, i wanna know your view about this, if it is harmful why? if it is not, why?

pbns can boost fast but they are risky and not stable better to build real links for long term growth

PBNs are still working in 2026, but only when they’re built properly and kept clean. Most people get into trouble because their networks are easy to detect (same hosting, patterns, thin content).

If a PBN looks like a real site with unique content, different setups, and no obvious connections, it can still be effective. It’s best used carefully as part of a broader strategy, but don't rely 100% on it.

PBN still works in 2026. Main thing is how do you secure the network. If they are using same hosting, some Word press theme, same Cloudflare & other footprints it can be detected easily along with thin content & spammy backlinks. On the other hand, if they are legit they can give tough competition to others in highly competitive niches!

pbns risk being spanked - but set up and run correctly
they will give you a boost, risk vs reward

PBNs can still work in some cases, but they usually carry more risk than safer methods. If the network footprints is obvious or low quality, it can cause problems later. Personally, I'd rather focus on relevant and natural links for long term stability.

PBN links are not automatically harmful,It really depends on how they are built and used. A well managed private network with unique content, real traffic, clean hosting, and natural linking can still work for rankings. The problem is most people build cheap footprints same themes, same IPs, spun content, aggressive anchor text and that's where penalities happen.

It requires tactics. Better handle it with care. You need to be really selective in choosing the links. Cheap links from flagged websites can indeed trigger penalty but well-designed links with clean history can boost the ranking soon. You need to go deep dive and find out the tricks behind.

PBNs are good for rapid growth but not for stability and consistency, Google penalizes them for that, and that's why they're not good.

They are only viable if you want to scale up fast. If you want Google to consistently rank your website high you do need whitehat SEO. If you want to rank fast but possibly burn the website/blog then PBNs are the way to go.

PBN links seem to have been completely untouched by the current bout of Google updates (at time of writing), and seem to be working better than ever in the instances I'm tracking.

If Google identifies the PBN network as manipulative, the links can lose value overnight. This won't happen with genuine editorial backlinks.

PBN links aren't inherently bad, instead their effectiveness depends on how the network is built and maintained.

A properly managed private blog network with quality content, genuine traffic, diverse hosting, and natural linking patterns would definitely still have a positive impact on rankings.

So far the issue is that many PBNs are created with obvious footprints, such as identical themes, shared IP addresses, spun content, and overly optimized anchor text, those shortcuts make them much easier for search engines to detect, increasing the risk of penalties.

PBN backlinks can yield results more quickly than many other methods of building links. However, careful planning is required, and they should not be used excessively. It's always a good idea to diversify your backlink profile.
