You Can Now Generate AI Images Within Google AI Overviews Using Latest Nano Banana Model

Google AI Overviews can now generate AI images based on your questions, directly in the AI Overview response in Google Search. Earlier, it was available in AI Mode but now you can access it within AI overviews.

Google said that this uses its "latest Nano Banana model, this update transforms a simple text prompt into a high-quality, custom visual made completely from scratch, seamlessly bridging the gap between imagination and reality."

Does it still has that ai watermark on the bottom right? I hate it. It gives the game away.

A few months ago, I asked Gemini to remove the watermark and it did. Recently, when I asked the same, it gave me an error. I'm having a Pro subscription but they still don't care. I tried removing the watermark using 3rd-party tools but they messed up the image. I then found that Photos app on Windows OS has an eraser tool that works great. I'm surprised with the results.

With the right prompts, you can get ChatGPT or Grok to remove those watermarks.

I gotta check that photos app eraser tool. I am using ms-paint to edit that spot where the watermark is. Sometimes I have to cut the image on the corners to get rid of the watermark.

this is a smart move by google. having image generation directly inside ai overviews will probably keep users on search even longer. i can also see people using it for quick mockups instead of opening a separate ai tool. curious to see how good the image quality is compared to dedicated generators.

Google is trying hard to stop users from migrating to AI tools. They'll probably make Google search an all-in-one tool (which is probably their company policy too as they've integrated Images, Maps, Videos, News, etc. in separate tabs).
