But the coin itself ... don't know what to say, looks shaky. Never been close to its 165 peak.

The crypto market is shifting towards RWA tokens, which, while already happening in the last cycle, is becoming increasingly significant because they offer real utility, particularly practical in high-volume sectors like real estate. I would investigate tokens or projects in that area. Keep in mind that if you decide to invest in RWA tokens, your crypto will no longer depend solely on the crypto market but also on the general market, including non-contract mortgages and similar activities. Something like the 2008 crash could wipe out your money, but the traditional market is less volatile, and if you follow it closely, these events are easier to spot than in the crypto sector, which is often quite opaque in this regard.

The context of my "question" which is actually just a way to look for productive debate, that's why forums exist is:
the next big thing in the true meaning, not a fad, but the evolution of the technology.
With ai and quantm surely there will be an evolution of the "crypto" space.
This is my "question". What do people think the evolution looks like. Some of the points in the thread were actually genuinely interesting.

I think the next big shift will be real world adoption rather than new trends Things like stablecoins tokenized assets and faster cross border payments seem more likely to have long term impact than hype driven projects

Tokenisation will be big for sure but to be honest i think more and more that solana will be a big player in crypto

@alphamaterx Hahaha, I am not institutional, I am an independent researcher/investor who does way too much research on crypto whitepapers and Web3 technology changes. And yes, I keep following the field, albeit through the analytical perspective to see where the technology is heading.

Definitely not interested in trends. My whole point was that I'm not looking for/asking about trends. But the next paradigm shift, or something close.
There were 3 waves of innovation, and I reckon a 4 th is around the corner
Why Solana? Why not xrm which seems to get lots of love from institutions
How sure are you? Please don't tell me chart analysis or some guy on X
And I got all excited I got a connection and intro to an institutional DePIN project

Truthfully, it's hard to predict what the next big thing will be in any space. It could be improvements to existing technologies or entirely new algorithms. Whatever it is, it'll likely be something unimaginably different from what we currently expect or understand. Something something, thinking about the future through he lense of the present, something.
Wouldn't be surprised if the next major development in crypto ends up looking nothing like what people are currently hyping. The biggest shifts are often the ones hardly anyone sees coming.

Its hard to find a good useful source of info. X seems to be just bots. Lots of chart analysis, which is completely useless.

Following that train of thought real quick is when futurists from the previous millennia talk about how we'd have robots driving cars. In reality we cut the middle so instead of robot chauffers, the cars became the robots that drove themselves. Like you said, it's likely to be something simple but different.
Plus, serious discussions about the future can usually be found in academic papers rather than on X, I suspect that might be the case even for cryptocurrency (yeah, on X it's either bots or crypto gurus trying to sell you into something back there).
Anyway, I'm about to commit the exact thing I was talking about and guess the future through the lens of the present: so, it'll probably be something that makes crypto less visible rather than more, like people using it without even realizing they're interacting with blockchain. It's a rather vague and more to do with integration, but who really knows.

Blockchain and tokenization as an infrastructure is a definite, because the technology has undeniable advantages, that's why the institutional players are knee deep in it.
I'm not a fan of trying to look far into the future, and far nowadays is 5 years.
In the interim <next 1-3 years> I really think there' something that will connect AI with Crypto. I specifically mean cryptocurrency, not blockchain. Maybe a different form of defi exchange, or different form of token storage, transfer or farming... powered or managed by AI. Any opinions on this, anybody?
