Does alt text matter at ranking?

In my experience however lack of alt text does not matter much. I would recommend focusing on developing great images nd appropriate titles rather than on masterring all the fields. The presence of useful nd interesting content can make even an image without alt text very popular.

If you have time, add alt text to your best performing pins manually. For bulk uploads, I would focus on the things that give the biggest results first.

Yes, it does add ranking leverage on Pinterest but titles and descriptions have more effect overall so you’re not missing out massively.

not really missing out on much tbh. if you are bulk pinning, the bottleneck is always going to be your time. pinterest relies heavily on OCR anyway, so having clear text overlay on the actual pin does way more for your reach than stuffing the alt text field. just focus on the main titles and descriptions and scale up the volume.

it looks like from what i have gathered alt text is something that acts more like a supporting signal for pinterest ranking. If uhh have managed to optimize ur pins title, description, keywords nd visual then uhh are good to go. there is no need to complicatte things further by adding alt text automatically.
