When I said "a year," I didn't mean exactly 12 months, but rather that the calendar year had turned over. For example, if it was set to expire in August, there’s at least a month or two from GoDaddy and another two or three from ICANN; so, it moved past that year and only became available for registration in the following one.

If GSC says the pages are indexable give it a bit more time Since the domain was previously inactive or changed ownership Google may simply be taking longer to rebuild trust

I'm facing the same issue with my website. I purchased this domain around 10 June without checking its history. Initially, Google started crawling and indexing most of my pages, but later it deindexed almost all of them. Now, only 10 pages are indexed in Google.

Has anyone experienced this before or knows how to fix it? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

if someone else acquired your domain and later you registered it again, there is a good chance that they used this domain as part of a PBN or in some other way. It is quite possible that your domain now has some algorithmic penalties from Google. This is just a possibility, not a confirmed fact.

the second likely reason is that the content pages on your website no longer meet Google's requirements, which have changed significantly over the past four years. As we know, Google is reluctant to index low-quality, templated, and low-value content. So this is also a possible explanation.

If GSC says the pages are indexable, I don't think it's a robots.txt or Cloudflare issue. The old favicon makes me think Google is still holding onto the previous version of the site. I'd check your server logs to see if Googlebot is actually crawling the new pages. Two weeks isn't that long for a reused domain, so it could just need more time.
