I like the portability but laptops are WAYY too weak for the work I do. So PC

You can convert a laptop into a PC, but not the other way around lol. So yes, I prefer Laptops (I do use a mac mini at office but that's just because I was having a mac mini lying around).

For gaming a PC, for working always a laptop
It all depend on what the task is. as someone who likes to use a laptop becuz the work can be done from anywhere on the Internet, I think that a desktop is beter when you need more power.

Apple silicon macs totally changed this concept. I still use my m1 max mbp for medium to heavy workloads. Absolutely aces the tasks every time while consuming really low power. It can even run local ai models like qwen 3 code absolutely fine.

Laptop. Easier to move around. Bought a new one last year just before prices went haywire. Also wanted to build a PC but that's not going to happen anytime soon because RAMs and SSDs are going for gold's price.
