The first thing I did this morning was to ask Claude to create a favicon for a website it designed for me yesterday and I had to stop it because I noticed this:

86% of my session usage used on failing to create a favicon with Fable 5. Luckily I have no more work for Claude for today.

This has reminded me to keep better tabs on what AI is doing even when it is (or should be) a very simple task.

this where a vector program, and maybe a sub to freepik/magnific would help? :D

I've not used fable since i don't want to feel the need to not live without it, i always stick to the bottom model, lol it was the best at one point! Soon fable 5 will be mine, i just have to wait 6-7 months! lol

This is the reason why the USA govt banned Fable 5. It'll drain all the drinking water from Earth when you hand it over a huge project.

Must be some kind of loop that it was stuck on and drained all the credits. I use it myself regularly for small image designs/edits and most of the time it’s pretty solid.

One of the reasons
Also, they are using this shit for their military obscure purposes
Using it to create an icon is like attacking an ant with a nuclear bomb, if I need a simple icon, canva or chat gpt free mode is enough for it

Cant they use sea water ?
Most of them avoid off-shore or deep sea deployment due to multiple reasons like latency, high energy demand that makes it physically & financially impractical, highly expensive maintenance, repairs & AI-chip upgrades. Microsoft once tried but abandoned it.

Although I said it as a joke because I personally believe that the governments anywhere in the world care less about environment, the water consumption part is true. While regular models consume 400-500ml per 20-50 Prompts, Fable 5 is estimated to consume about 20–100 mL of water per query (couldn't find a legit source though) depending on cooling technology. So people use the phrase "a bottle of water per conversation" for using AI models.

OP and anyone interested should read this:
https://aiblewmymind.substack.com/p/claude-fable-5-use-cases

A single “make a Minecraft clone” prompt to Fable on high effort produced, in about 20 minutes, a world with multiple biomes, a day-night cycle, different ores, and caves.
We should be building apps, games, and saas tools with high-end models.

I can't say if that works for everyone, but i created a skill where i always ask claude to save as much as possible on the answers (just like that caveman plugin on claude code) and well, been using opus 4.8 and fable a lot, and never runned into the limitation. Claude is awesome, but you gotta watch for the answers, and choose the best models for each service. And as someone else said, if there's a better solution for something outside claude, just use it

why are you using fable5 to design an image lmfao
Got lazy, it was open with the project already lol. The best bit, idiot here had it on Ultracode, for a favicon.

I use Claude purely for playing around these days, it demands too much attention to be super useful for anything. I give GPT a task and walk away and it is done half hour later, Claude I walk away and instantly it asks me a question, requiring an answer.

This "fuck up" was pretty inconsequential for me, I just thought it was funny that it used so much to fail such a simple task.

Very soon the AI bubble will pop, and then everything will be costly. Match the model with your needs - to create a favicon, you don't need fable 5 and it's overkill. Remember, those AI companies cost money monthly and they spend billions on these tasks. This bubble is going to pop soon. As users, we should help save energy.

LOL! Yup, we are becoming too much AI dependent. This is why I have stopped using claude/copilot for small tasks. I only use it when I have some kind of requirement that needs quick scaffolding.

Similar issue, I've switched back from Fable5 because of this.
