Do detailed quora answers still get long term traffic?

Hey all,
I have noticed some old quora answers continue getting views years after they were posted while others disappear quickly.
For those who have experience with quora then what do you think makes an answer continue getting traffic over time?
Is it the topic, writing quality, engagement or something else?

A big part of it is whether the question itself pulls search traffic from google, not just quora. Some questions match evergreen search queries people type for years, so the answer keeps ranking and feeding views. Topic matters more than writing quality imo... a mediocre answer on a question with steady demand will outlast a brilliant answer on something nobody searches for.

The other thing is upvotes early on. If you get enough to sit near the top of the answers, you stay visible and keep collecting more, kinda snowballs. Answers buried at the bottom just die.

@Invictus is right that search demand is the core of it. I'd add that going back and updating an old answer once in a while helps too, quora seems to like freshness signals and it can bump you back up.

It's mostly the topic, evergreen questions with helpful answers tend to keep bringing views long after they're posted.

Answers that solve common problems are keep getting views along with the time. Topic also matters but a clear and helpful answer is also important.

Yes, they can, but only if they're genuinely useful.

If you can answer people's questions thoroughly, you're bound to get views to your older Quora answers.

It based on the writing quality sometime but it is not enough because it works when you choose the right question to answer and the way you answer that question.

Based on what I've observed, it is all about topic relevancy and search intent. The more thorough answers to evergreen queries keep surfacing, and early engagement does help but won't do anything for poor content.
