The most important thing that I have learned is that one should not mistake a quick rise for an effective strategy. There are many strategies that can give good returns quickly, but it is all about analyzing the information and being able to change course at the right time.
This lesson is that you should not pursue any strategy blinndly. Almost anything in SEO will work under certain conditions, but the reasons behind the effectiveness, the way of testing, and the moment of quitting becoome more important than the technique itself.
The biggest blunder that i have committed is that i followed others in what i used to does. when a strategy becomes a trend it tends to become over crowded also . coming up with my own strategy has been much more successful for me.
the most important lesson for me is not assuming a technique will be effective based on the fact that it was effective at an other site. black hat is all about experimenting, measurement and when to stops a technique before it causes more trouble for you !
Biggest lesson for me is does not confuse a temporary ranking spike with a working strategy. if a method only survives untill the next update it were not really a whole win.
I were taught to test ideas on smaller projects before trying out my ideas on sites that actually matters to me. It is easier to learn when failure do not mean losing months of work.
The truth be told the biggest take away here is that things have expiry dates. Do not put all our eggs in one basket because what ever works today will be rendered obsolete tomorrow.
what i have learned is that the key is not to find a winning tactic but rather know when to stop employing it. something could work like magic for two weeks nd then all of a sudden, it turns against u. isolating ur experiments, figuring out what caused the result nd not betting on one approach only will help u avoiid a major overhaul.
For me it was realizing that i should not equate a peak ranking with success strategy. If it does not survive bad weeks and updates then I does not take it as an asset.
The most important thing is that rushing into action can cause sloppy mistakes. i would prefer to spend a few days testing my strategy than can ruin an entire website by expanding on something i only barely know.
