Scammed by user "Rankifyer" for $220 USD

Hello BHW,

Here's a warning to everyone. I got scammed by user "Rankifyer" this morning for $220 USD. As soon as I sent the payment, he deleted the entire convo and blocked me. There is literally nothing I could do.... So here I am, trying to warn you guys so you don't get scammed too.... Here are screenshots of the few messages that I sent after he deleted the entire convo and blocked me and also a screenshot of his profile here on BHW.

Really unfortunate that this happened, and I hope he gets penalized for it.

His replies were blocked, there was no way I could DM him. So I looked at his profile and he had his Telegram link on there. I messaged him and told him I saw his profile on BHW and would like to do business with him. As soon as I sent payment, the entire TG thread vanished and he blocked me. Funny thing is, I am trying to help the forum and warn other people of this scam and I'm the one being rejected by mods, even though I have literal proof. He will continue scamming people... I tried.

Be vigilant out there.
 
I've moved this to the lounge since it's not a suggestion/feedback issue.

As others have already said, this is a dispute. You can put it through but as mentioned the dispute will only move forward if all of the boxes are ticked and chief among it is having some sort of interaction with the accused here on BHW. It doesn't actually have to be a DM (though sending a DM is involved). Having posted in their thread prior to the incident works as ticking the prior engagement box as well.
 
I was unable to comment on any threads and I was unable to DM him. The next logical thing was to try contacting him on a channel stated in his bio or signature. I have no incentive to report this, I’m not gaining anything. I just don’t want the next guy to get scammed too, all the while, this guy goes off running unscathed. I have proof of the transaction and you can verify the timing based on the TG convo screenshot, can I send it to you via DM?

Again, I have no incentive to do this other than protecting the users of BHW.

Here are 2 screenshots of the $220 BTC tx I sent 4 minutes before he wiped the TG convo and blocked me. 4 minutes… I sent it at 10:48 AM, he saw the tx at 10:52 AM and proceeded to scam me.

Yes, TG is scammer's paradise, where one can instantly delete your conversation and run away with your money (crypto of course).
Your money is gone and whoever did it will do it again. Since you don't have any proof of conversation (it is deleted) or proof of transaction starting on BHW, dispute is probably not gonna get approved...

I obviously messaged the main account, the one with hundreds of replies and a "Jr. VIP" badge. Basically tricked me into thinking he's legit. Oh well, its $220 bucks but seriously, what a loser. I just don't want him getting off scott-free and scamming the next loyal BHW user.

I literally posted the transaction and what was left of the TG convo history, 4 minutes apart from each other. I don't know how much more proof I can possibly offer, given the fact that I couldn't DM him and I wasn't allowed to post on threads. I can even prove in one other avenue, and that is, that I was chatting with several BHW sellers just like himself at the same time, and I can provide all of those screenshots as well so the mods can see and match the timing with the time that I got scammed.

Your screenshot mentions a profile post from last year with two telegram accounts. Which account did you message on telegram?

I messaged "Rankifyer" on Telegram, the actual scammer. The link to his TG is in his signature and bio which you can cross-reference with the screenshot of the leftover TG convo... He's playing reverse psychology on his own profile, claiming that there's another scammer impersonating him, to make it seem like he is actually, indeed, not a scammer. Does that make sense?
 
always use escrow when dealing with random users. $220 is a cheap lesson compared to what it could have been.
 
This claim is completely false. I have never had any conversation or transaction with this person on Telegram. If someone used a fake Telegram account pretending to be me, please share the exact Telegram username and proof. You can also message me directly on the Telegram account listed in my forum signature so we can verify everything publicly. False accusations without evidence are misleading.

Shame shame shame on you. I have screenshots to prove it. You will not survive long on this forum. You may think you got away with it, but the bill always comes due. What goes around comes around.
 
if i was banned you you cannot message me but if you click lick from signature and then msg.
